I'm a senior (plus a little...) at SCAD right now, with a focus in concept art for the game industry. Critique is always welcomed and desired! I'm really trying to improve as thoroughly as possible in order to catch up with where I need to be for the industry. I'm hoping to have a much stronger portfolio in time for GDC in March.
I'll start off with a scatter-shot of some of my work from the past year or so.
I'm not much of a modeler, but I took a class this past year to learn so that I would have the skill at my disposal. These are the first two models I've made. I also did the texturing, though I had done a little bit of that before, years ago. I am going to be doing a lot more texturing in the next year or so as part of a game I'm beginning development on with a few other people.
Thanks so much for looking, guys! If you'd like to see more, I have a much fuller swath of work up at my website.
Thanks! I will keep that in mind. I'm trying to improve my spatial thinking.
These are just a couple scrappy pages from my smaller sketchbook that I carry around. I've been learning to sketch in pen, something I have avoided previously... just recently I've let go of trying to achieve perfection in sketches like this, and to just draw something and then move on to the next thing. This has helped me immensely in attaining the ability to 'draw with authority/confidence', which is something I hadn't even realized I was doing until professors and such started remarking on it. I feel like it is still 80% self-bullshit, but that doesn't matter so much considering the benefit!
Just finished this yesterday!
I like the food you illustrated makes me think that there sure is a bigger world then just the (armor or even the eviroments) makes me wonder what my characters would be eating haha
keep it up man
sketchbook updated October 6th
Wow, its been a while since I posted here. I have been drawing nonstop, though!
Whew, I think that's all of it... The volume of drawing has made doing so in general much easier, but I'm trying to get myself back into painting now.

Nice work! I really like your character and creature designs. I don't have a whole lot of advice, because it looks like you are heading in the right direction for sure. Just keep doing studies and pushing work out. Great start to a sketchbook!
Thanks! Yeah, lack of studies and such to do is certainly not a problem, hah. If anything I've been having a hard time setting aside my studies long enough to sit down and churn out some relevant portfolio work.
