I was intimidated by all the triple S artists in here but I finally grew those cojones to post here, surrounding myself with better artists is a good thing
I just finished High School a few months ago and I want to head into the visual arts, animation, 3D graphics and some computer science route. I was hoping that I could use this year off for self improvement, and study. Perhaps create a portfolio and grab myself a scholarship and go somewhere.
I'm going to try my best to upload at least 1 sketch, study, doodle, or painting every single day, and if I fail I will do double the amount the next day to make up for it.
The copious amount of free time I have right now is enough to make anyone jealous, and I plan on using a lot of that free time to growth and self improvement.
Any criticism and tips is greatly appreciated.
I will start with this robot bird sketch I did a few days back
Looking good so far I would like to see you do some Loomis studies for the face anatomy he also has a great figure drawing book too. It really helped me you can see on my sketchbook I am new to painting and drawing but I am loving the challenge although some days I feel down about my work. But I keep fighting I have added this sketchbook to my subscriptions
It's good to see that you're doing Loomis, one can learn an immense amount from him. Keep up the good work, and remember that every little bit helps. It's all the little bits adding up that makes for the big bits! For now I would suggest first working on figure drawing and maybe drawing some still lifes so you build a better understanding of form (how shapes work in three dimensional space). When you have a more solid grasp on that, you'll see how things like shading and painting become much more intuitive.
Started 3D modeling yesterday, learning from Lynda.com which is an incredible site
This is my very first model in blender which is also an incredible tool.
Didn't take very long to make but I'm proud and psyched that I'm learning a new medium.
