Dear ladies and gentlemen,
as I've seen many wonderful sketchbooks here, some with astonishing improvement, I thought it might be a good idea to start one on my own, at least try to. I'll try to post new sketches regularly, anyway hope you like them, especially critique and advice are very welcome!
Thanks and all the best to all of you!

Thanks a lot Zeynep!!
Here is a video with some sketches, bad and some better ones, maybe that's one reason it might be a little too fast lol. I wanted to use this video for an outro of a student work, when I remember correctly it contains of about 750 faces. The order of the pictures is random, so there is no chronical development nor dramatization. Hm lol sry for my bad English, hope its understandable though.
edit: Ok CA won't let me upload the video, although its a small mov-file, i uploaded it to youtube, hoping CA would upload it from there, but it didn't work neither so here is the youtube Link: http://youtu.be/Q3eJGMLRwgM . The square format is due to intentional use.
Thanks a lot Josh and Mr. Joe for your suggestions!!
I've tried both ways but unfortunately I was unable to succeed and failed fatally lol. When I try the embedded-method nothing really happens: the new post shows the source code I've included from Youtube, when I try the [y t]link[/y t] (minus space) method I get only an empty post. I've also tried a combo but failed again. To be honest I'm not very good at such things and I'm probably just too stupid lol.
I've tried different file formats now too but the uploading still doesn't work for me, I always get the info that some security token is missing - whatever this mysterious token might be - seems there is a new mission for Indy.
Also thanks for your nice comments...oh yes they're all from imagination, some are inspired by reference but not in the classical way.
All the best to you!
P.S. scanned a some new sketches
P.S.II thanks again!
750 faces? whoa, how long did it take to draw so many? Anyway, I like them a lot, keep it up
These are hilarious! Especially the guy on the top right of the second picture.
Love how you capture different personalities with each face.

That should work?
Just enter the youtube code between yt and /yt, not the entire link.
(sorry for hijacking your brand new sb)
Love to see a new sb at its beginning though It's ambitious, the faces.
Did you reference them? Where did you get your pool of facial features? I would simply run out of shapes :p
You're very good, looking forward for more!
Thanks a lot Daevid, Suja and Louis for your kind words and motivation!
Haha yes it took a while, but don't remember anymore how much it really was, the sketches are maybe between 30sec and 5min (maybe some few 10min) each.
It was originally a suggestion by my teacher to try to do 1000 sketches in a semester, which was a nice idea because it got me back to drawing after I somehow lost my motivation. The missing 250 sketches I did aren't worth showing lol, scanning them would be more time wasting than ...hm I don't know ironing socks maybe.
The sketches are mostly from imagination. The problem with reference for me is that i lose my style when I'm drawing with reference, because I'm hm don't know how to describe, I copy too much then and lose the looseness of lines etc. I definitively have to practice that. Many sketches are like happy accidents and so I have to get more control over it I suppose.
Also thanks a lot for the solution and posting of the video!
All the best to all of you!
Thanks Zeynep, probably I just do it without reference because when I draw with it I can see better how I fail lol, so as a method of self protection I just do it without reference.
I'm not good a coloring unfortunately, have to work on it, because the sketches looks completely different then. At the moment I don't have too much time to practice that, because I have to finish a student work, but after that I'll definitively will make some color version and post them here.
your work made me smile
keep it up!

Thanks very much Zeynep and Charlie :-D!!
Here is one of my first digital paintings, which I did in about autumn 2009, and beside a repainting I did some time ago, lol but when I painted to grey and misty back then I'm kind of overdoing it now and use too saturated colors, as the first version looks real crappy I hope the new one is at least somehow better. I still can't draw ears but at least it isn't so small anymore lol.
You've come on leaps and bounds sir!

I love the character you put into these. It's absolutely wonderful!
Many thanks Zeynep. The first version was in a time when I unfortunately somehow lost motivation in drawing and wasted a lot of time. When I was in school I drew a lot, mostly during lessons instead of listening to math & co, but when I got on design/art college, where normally I should've drawn even more, I somehow stopped drawing. Now i try to get back on track, and the task with 1000 drawings (no matter how crappy many of them were) was a good start I think.
Here is a new picture I did as a header for my blog, hope you like it:
last image is sick
Wow!!! Super expressions; I can't help but crack a grin!!
many thanks Tofa and Morti,

Very cool stuff (: Huge improvement since 2009 and you're obviously feeling very comfortable with drawing interesting faces, filled with character.
I think you could practice drawing the hands a bit more, some of them feel a bit stiff, especially compared to the lively faces, and sometimes they're disproportional in size. You also have the habit to draw really short arms, most noticeable with the old guy giving the finger, but that might be a conscious style decision (:
Many thanks Crisi and Theeroos for your feedback I feel very honored and glad you like it. Haha oh yes Theeroos you're completely right with the hands and also the overall anatomy, I definitely have to work on this. I hate drawing hands, they make me mad lol, whenever I can avoid them I do it, but I have to change that for sure!!
Thanks again and all the best to you !
