I'm not actually sure if this is possible or not, but I thought it'd be worth a shot to ask.
So, I'm on a Mac Book pro OSX 10.8.
I just bought a medium Intuos 5 Touch with a wireless adapter to use with my laptop, but I also have a super old 9x12 Intuos 1 which still works like a charm and I was hoping to use that one still when I didn't need to be out and about.
...Is this in any way possible? I uninstalled the intuos 1 driver to install the driver for intuos 5, and sure enough, my older tablet no longer works when plugged in.
Is it okay to install 2 drivers? Is there a workaround for this issue?
Any advice would be super appreciated!
Well I really wouldn't advise it.
I have an intuos4 and intuos5 I made the mistake of running them on the same computer and some reason it corrupted my preferences file.
I have seen Wacom state iirc on the Europe forums that it wasn't a good idea to use more than one tablet with the intuos5 drivers. This may have changed with newer updates, but after that nice crash and burn I am not gonna try that again. I have too many programs with shortcuts I frequently use.
The only other work around is a new user profile? If you are allowed multiple logons to the same Mac and one uses the intuos 5 and the other intuos
Yeah, going to chime in here and just say, don't do it.
Had the problem with two previous tablets that were a lot
simpler than wacoms.
Thank you guys so much for the advice, I'm sure you saved me a lot of trouble...
I was wondering though...
Well, I'm going to have parallels on my mac so that I can run Sai, if I install the other driver on windows do you think there will be any issues?
nope, you'll be fine, they're completely independent.
one thing about parallels you should remember is that only can use wacom tablet either with mac os or windows (no way to use them simultaneously);
there're also some problems with cursor rendering when using wacom tablets; go to control panel, mouse options and set a small cursor trail there. it should fix this issue.
