Long time lurker, first time poster. I've been drawing all my life, but I'm at the point in my life where actually want to buckle down and make some serious progress with my work. My primary focus is to be a character designer & maybe do some concept artwork as well. And from what I understand that for a novice it's a pretty long road to walk down. So I'm here to at least find out where to get my feet wet.
I'm familiar with some of the things I need to achieve these goals such as constructive anatomy and competent use of programs such as photoshop. But the main step is for me to organize myself and sort of figure out how to go from "eh, cute sketch kid" to "competent artist/animator and above". I'm well aware that the sky's the limit in this industry, but I gotta figure out how to take off before I can realize that. So any advice, tips, and general insight would be fantastic.
Great to finally be a part of the community.
Glad to have you taking part. Best way to get
advice is to upload some of your stuff on the boards
to show us what you can do.
