Uploading larger images from this live model session. So you actually can see the detail D: Trying to start with values and not put so much effort into lines this time . I also tried exaggerating the personality of the model, she was very skinny and tall. Oh, and she brought a baby as well.
Hey man, thanks for stopping by my sketchbook! It's great to see your stuff too.
You've got a great imagination and no fear, looks like you are just "going for it!" which is so awesome. I look up to that. We all need to have no fear! I think we used the same screenshot for the blade runner scene, which is awesome.
I know it's a drag sometimes but I'd suggest trying to do some studies in black and white first. Just see how that feels, it'll always give you a better understanding of values.
Also something I'm realizing more and more is how important line work is, don't under estimate the value of the pencil - it'll translate into everything you do. Keep it up!
Yeah it feels like I'm just going for it sometimes, trying to do things even if I can't! Thanks man, feels good hearing that. Blade runner has awesome lightning so it would be a sin not to study it!
I've slacked off too much at studying values, the main focus these couple of months has been trying to get a better feel for colors. And yeah, I've realized the same thing, strong lineart is really important, Good thing that we've both seen the truth! Thanks and I will!
Heyy good start for a sketchbook, Bjulvar! I think your edges and uh lines I guess (?) have already improved a lot, they are not that blurry anymore. Though maybe you could pay even more attention to them. Ehm the same thing I should be doing Don't really have anything else to critique, just keep up the dedication, you are doing very well!
Thanks Satu! Yeah it's a long process in refining them I guess. Focusing more on lines, but I still want to keep it loose. Can't decide which way to go, aaah! I will keep it up and you do the same thing!
Here's an armor/facial study for ya. I've been slacking off with studies lately.
In hindsight I can see that I haven't analyzed the values properly
