Teen Challenge 173: Sword in the Stone
This weeks topic was suggested by blazingdimensions.
This week's topic is Sword in the Stone. In this weeks teen challenge your task is to illustrate the sword in the stone.
The original story about how King Arthur pulled Excalibur is a popular legend and has been used as inspiration for lots of different tales and adaptions.
Now I want to see your take on it.
This weeks focus is composition. Remember to have your piece focus on the sword!
The deadline is Sunday 29th of July, 23:59 GMT
Finals thread can be found here.
used Alchemy as a starter for some ideas...
Having many ideas right now, some really rough thumbs
idea involving sword not in a stone... but in a stone creature (statue) that becomes alive when you pull the sword out and if you beat it you keep the sword if it kills you it puts the sword back and turns back into a statue.
I'm sure this has been done before.. :'''( maybe my idea will morph into something ridiculous
I drew the sword going through the head and being visible in the teeth and jaws, coming out the chin... only thing is i want the sword to be big but my characters of pulling are small... may not have characters in BG.. idk yet.
so wielders may not be able to wield... x.x
nother idea: sword in stone for Cyclopean creatures
the swords in my last Sb post may be involved as well...
oh and, concentrating on the hilt.. since this emphasis is on composition, figured would be good to have a detailed cool looking hilt.
man i hate attachment manager, ... cant put stuff where i want it...
but the last sketch at the bottom is basically what i'll probably go with.. i can't explain the concept exactly... like above.. .. hit me like a bolt of lighting!
