I started drawing only 3 weeks ago.
I have not drawn or creating art on a consistent basis, meaning for fun and not for school, since I was in the 2nd grade (so ~16 years ago). But starting on 7/6/12 I have been drawing every day for at least an hour and a half!
What got me back into art was one of my close friend's art which inspired me to create. He always told me, "Art is prayer," and how by creating art we become closer to the creative current of the universe. I gave it a go, even though I have always thought of myself as someone who cannot draw, and found that the act of creating is very enjoyable.
It feels like meditation, especially when figure drawing; it feels like I am creating an intimate connection to the object and even becoming the object itself. I feel an expansion of my consciousness and a better appreciation for the beauty of creation. My eyes feel like they are becoming less blind with each line that I draw.
BTW, I don't have a great scanner(it doesn't pick up all the marks) so I have to use a camera to upload.
