Then there are all the ImagineFX workshops that you could potentially pirate... but the best teacher of all is discipline and observation.

great studys on the muscles! I gotta work a bit with pen to, I remember always drawing with a ballpoint pen and choosing it over pencil as a kid. Keep up the good work!
harbinger, I did copy that list to my own sketchbook, to easily be able to find it. Hope you do not mind.
Please, excuse me for the possible errors in my English.
wow your hand studies look exaclty like mine. we must be using the same anatomy book. I agree wish shahan about moving over to digital. it's what you're going to be using for concept art so it'd be better to move on now
edit: thanks for the links harbinger. ive been having the same problem so those links came in handy
Wow page 3... i dont feel i deserve it since i only updated once on the last page...
harbinger thank you for those i actually knew about most of them, but i tihnk i just forgot all the basics and donts btw i love sinixdesign but hes getting lazy recently.... really disappointing, his background story is actually what inspired me to draw every day... i used to barely draw every week if even
steeliebob: thank you man, yeah ive actually almost always stayed away from pen cus i was intimidated, specially some of the pens i have which are really loose
gamersgene: what hand studies are you specifically talking about my good sir?? i mainly use bridgman for hands, and actual refs but i havent done many hand studies lately
anyways guys ill update maybe later or 2moro, i thought of this cool creature concept that ill work on so expect from that
Thank you good sir
heres the page from last night, not much i was tired
Not bad. Are those your PS attempts?
Thanks, no they are actually sepia brush pen sketches really quick ones i didnt draw today either disappointment!
Hey man, I'll tell you something, your sketches show a lot of potential. What you need to focus on right now is keeping at it. The worst thing you can do is stop drawing, so try and get yourself into some good sketching habits and just keep at it!
Thanks and well its like using a marker but with a skinnier but longer tip that enables you to have broad and thin strokes, they are neat when trying to cover large areas but not the best if youre only gonna use a brush pen for lineart...
You can get them at michaels or some other art place they tend to have a b on the cap, i reccomend the prismacolor brand, i bought a different brush pen from some oter brand and the tip sucked it split....
JoeS: thanks man i really appreciate it, yeah if it wasnt for work i would draw everyday, but sometimes its hard when youre tired y'know? Its easy to be lazy specially when youre a teen @.@
Im going to try to push out more digital stuff and some
More imaginitive stuff from
Now on just be patient guys!
okay so i have returned sorry, wow 2 months without posting a thing, i have been keeping up with your sb's though ;D
so i havent really been doing too much, just every other day or something like that
although recently i have been doing alot more digital well just last weekend but still, the pencil sketches are the most recent, the pen ones are from after my last update and etc... i think ive gotten a little better any opinions??
oh and the pics with the pyramids and etc are for my concentration for ap art!
p.s. i love the new attachment manager
thanks! and yes i need to do more of that! ugh this scanner really dulls the pages out!
I like seeing those full page of sketches! keep it up man draw everything you think looks interesting to you!
sketchbook updated October 6th
Thank you well guys just for the heck of updating, this is a sketch i just finished doing 5-10 minutes probly in sb pro,
btw does anyone know any good tips on how to draw on a small tablet its extremely uncomfortable for me! Im forced to put pressure on my pinkie and fingers because of how small it is
Nice. lookin good dude. making strides. keep pushing more complicated studies. all the info is on the internet. just look and learn.
and yeah... i have an intuos4 medium sized tablet so I'm really grateful for that. what do you have again? nothing really you can do sadly... although definitely set it to 'force proportions' and draw from the shoulder and try drawing more zoomed in since that will make stylus movements exaggerated, so to speak... y'know?
mess with zooms and the scale of what your digital canvas is at... thats my advice... save up for a large tablet... Large looks like the best to me... but you also need the desk space. >_<
thank you , but um i have a bamboo pen small its so tiny its 5.8" x 3.6" thats the active pen area no touch but yeah its so cramping thats mainly why i dont do much digital, and yeah my workspace is tiny as well :/
So im just tryinng out new things, i got me two strathmore toned sketchbooks both tanned (althought i wish i wouldve gotten one grey toned ) and i also got these charcoal pencil but they suck, did i mention i got a 72 prismacolor set? and a moleskine for on the go travel OH OH and G TEC C pens they are freaking amazing! anyways haha sorry this is just a little bit ive done more but its crap, and heres a wip of a current piece im working on any critiques? oh god i didnt realize how bad it was until i scanned it.... damn....
Hey man, looks great, keep on going (:
Whenever you feel like you're going to loose your motivation, just read this:
It helps a lot for me (:
And I have no words for this. http://heyyeyaaeyaaaeyaeyaa.com/
Thank you i definitely will but yeah ive been feeling that way but i just remind my self that i have to fail in order to become better
So this is my drawings for self portrait day the second is a bit better i used corel painter, im really liking corel painter for sketching
Some random anatomy sketches, not too long, done in painter.... im just trying to get used to the tablet is all, i have been doing alot of sketchbook pages as well so dont worry
yeah but i hit another stump in the road... 3 days without drawing @.@ ill get over it, but wow i really like those demos ill try them out when i get the chance btw have you heard of zhang lu?
ok so first digital painting of the human form im working on a female version, i seem to be much more fluent drawing males and females, ALL THOSE CURVES @.@ btw guys im thinking about purchasing a fujitsu tablet pc for on the go sketching and practice digital more since this bamboo is really uncomfortable
any crits welcome btw it was pretty quick
So I decided to get a tablet PC because my bamboo was getting too small for me so z will be doing alone more digital here is my, first Comments Critiques welcome
A tablet does take some getting used to doesn't it, especially a bamboo! xD (Egads, carpal tunnel bonanza!)
Anyway, it looks like you're making some progress so I'll leave you to it. Oh, and if you ever want a real cheap alternative to a Wacom tablet, Monoprice sells a 10x6 with almost twice the LPI of your standard bamboo tablet and 24 programmable hotkeys which will run you about $50 depending on shipping, they've even got a 12x9 for a good bargain... The drivers are pretty stubborn at first but it's actually pretty great for the price.
