I'm brand new to this site and it is a little bit intimidating. I use to draw a lot but since doing Animation I stopped drawing so much because I had to learn the technical side of things. Well, I've now finished uni all together and although I've lost the passion I use to have, I want to get back into it again. During my childhood I literally use to draw non stop, I didn't have to think. Nowadays I worry so much I'm finding it hard to just do it for fun or find inspiration.
I'm willing to take on criticisms if it means improvements.
I hope through out I'll show some growth to my work.
The previous ones were using reference images
These are ones done on my phone, the Galaxy Note
This one I decided to redo an old image. As you can see I've not really done much apart from revise the sketch. I would upload more stuff but for some reason it keeps coming up with errors
I know, I know, I need to do more Photoshop work but I didn't have my laptop or a sketchbook and pencil. I didn't expect to spend the day without anything but my phone so I tried to utilise the time. I know I've been only doing outline drawings for the most part on my phone so I decided to stay away from that all together and straight into painting with Sketchbook Mobile. I'm quite pleased with the results.
One I based off of Geralt from the Witcher series, more so from the books than the videogames. The other is still unfinished.

Again, trying to do some painting without sketching first, just to get use to it. I know I can make improvements. I plan to start looking into anatomy to improve.
I know I've not posted in this for a while, I guess I've had difficulty finding myself when it comes to art and how to get better. I've decided to go back to basics and learn the human figure. Right now, I'm not going to look at the details but trying to get my proportions right and actually understanding how the body works underneath the skin. I think this will help improve my confidence in drawing. The reason why I've decided to post up after such a long time is because most of all I want to show proof of progress to myself so at least I can come back and see. My plan is to do 30 second drawings everyday for at least 5-10 minutes as a starter, and then doing more technical studies.
