Guys, thanks a lot for your feedback, i'll try my best to improve. But i really did not get the point on the values you guys mentioned, maybe you could give some examples?? it would be nice, lol. But anyways, i'll continue to do the studies and work hard enough to achieve the best result.
I'm doing some Loomis studies but as i mentioned before, i was planning to get back to the challenges, and here i have my first entry in a CHOW match. I spent about 7 hours on this guy, a record for me, lol. The result is still lacking something... but i really can't figure it out =/.

thanks for stopping by man. I really can't say i'm ahead of you, cause you're certainly doing well for yourself. At our stage I think theres nothing more important than perseverance and believing in yourself. Keep drawing and do it daily, make sure you have a list set out for what you need to study the next day and just tick em off as you go.
Thanks for that dude! I'm definitely working hard to break through.
Here are some Lomis studies i was owing:
Here is a quick doodle i did based on the current IOW match (Where the giants Roam). It took about 20 minutes.
And here is an environment study based on the current EOW Match (yeah, i forgot the title, something about a natural bath place for birds). This took about 3h to reach that level. Well, actually i'll consider this my wip for that match, hope to finish it in time.

Obg por chegar aqui Aragah. Trabalhando duro pra conseguir chegar no melhor resultado.
So, i'll call this the final for my entry, maybe i'll do some fixes later. Now gotta go back to Loomis stuff.

Hey guys! Here are some more Loomis studies and my first WIP for the current CHOW match (The monarch of duality). Now i'm really seeing the rersults of studying Loomis, i really could not even sketch a woman, now i'm getting the feel for it, it will be a really tough challenge to do a WIP with women involved. Anyways, we're here to get better, so no big deal about the subject.
you'r eow 195 is super cool!
You'r loomis studies are great (definitely will take u'r advice for them!) - it's good
to see that you are improving in those, motivational!
gotta say that I love all the enviro's u do! you know how to do them powerful!
make sure u continue I will WATCH. hehe (:
Thanks for commenting on my sketchbook.
I just don't know what to say for your stuff, it's just awesome, man, keep painting, I'll be checking your SB often
Finished FDFAIW. It's a really good book but i think i got kinda lost in the process because Loomis has an approach that deals with those lines of action and stuff like that that i really can't use properly in my work. Maybe some more practice will help. anyways, i will start to post the Bridgeman's constuctive anatomy, it seems that i will end up linking this book more than FDFAIW, lol.
Note: The last one is a sketch i did really quickly to see where i'm going with characters in general.
Really like your enviroment paintings, awesome sketchbook.
Some linework and WIP of character painting.
You are really good at drawing with graphite.
Your digipaints would benefit from using a bigger brush to block things in, and then move towards the smaller one for the detail work if this is to be. The forms will pop up more this way, as they currently do in your pencil drawings!
@ Aragah - Vlw joe! e a história é a mesma de sempre cara, procurando o que falta no portfolio e caindo em cima...lol.
@ Lakka - Thanks for the feedback dude! And yeah, i really really have to improve my "blocking shapes" skill with bigger brushes, doi more value studies to help this issue...
So, a few more pencil sketches done in about 1h each, and more progress on the character painting.
Hey guys!, back here again with some paintings from photo refs and some really quick creature sketch. I gotta say that my edge control sucks, don't really know why but i 'll try to more black and white stuff to focus on this issue.
And here, my thumbs for the EOW crossover challenge. Me and ChisLu are doing some underwater stuff for this match =).
You can also check her work here:
The bodystudies of the girls are amazing. I also like your detailed characterdesigns. Keep up the good work!
Hah, those are some great works man, especially the ladies! And thanks for linking my sketchbook as well. We should team up more, def. loving to work on it
I think, your digital paintings feel to much "drawn". So many fuzzy little brushstrokes. Sometimes they work, but in many cases I think they are to much. My advice would be to work with big brushstrokes, being resourceful and thinking about the planes and their values. Just because they went missing sometimes because of to many strokes. Your paintings aren't bad - but more organisation and a mixture between highly detailed parts and very rough simple parts would give them more contrast and makes them easier to view.
Keep it up! =)
Totally agrre with you Valyavande, thi is one of the reaons my edge control sucks right now, as i mentioned before...
SO, these are the pieces that me and Chislu have done for the crossover challenge, i'm really trying to get the next level, even though the problems i talked here are still persistent...
Hey guys, back to study again. But now the whole thing is getting more fun with some friends on google hangout, really nice tool to study with group.
So, here are some more bridgeman stuff, 5 thumbnails from movies and some sketch paintings of mine. And yeah, the lens flare stuff was just for fun, i don't really intend to use it in future works... but who knows eh?
Some more bridgeman stuff. Probably the best book for anatomy i have read so far, =).
Here is the complete thumbnail page that i did for an activity schedule i run with some friends here.
And here, 2 personal concept pieces.
Not really happy with the result but these two guys really helped in some issues, specially as a composition and color study.
Hope to finish more stuff soon.
Nice concept pieces in the last post! I like them a lot. Maybe in the second one you could have used air perspective more to show depth. It's irritating for me, that the smaller parts on the sides of the temple have an other saturation than the part in the middle. I understand that the light should cause this effect, but it doesn't feel right for me. Try to create contrasts between foreground and background. You can use light for that, as well as saturation, details, sharpness... There are many ways. I think, I would make the foreground darker but with more saturated colours and do the background much lighter. But in the end it depends on the effect you want. So, use the possibilities of Photoshop and run wild!
Thanks always Valyavande, you always give some nice feedback, i'm really trying my best with stuffs here. Thank you again.
So, back to updates here. These are some sketch paintings i did a while ago, i must admit that i really did not liked any of those pieces, specially because i was trying to do something without any reference, just to see what i was ready to do... shame on me, lol. But i though it would be ok to post it anyway, so i could share every thought i've been facing these days on my practice.
And knowing that i was going nowhere without reference, i did some line studies from photos aiming to improve both my visual library and linework as well, gotta do a lot of those guys to improve...
Hey guys, it's been a while. The site was all messed up and i wasn't doing much stuff these last days of 2012.
So, here is what i've been playing. Some animals studies, presentation studies and some new enviro^^.
