A excellent start from a soon to be professional sketchbook you have some skills and I wish you good fortune on your road of being a artist
Everything is permitted
Ummm. I have gotten the comment in my book that I have good work ethic with studies. BUT after seeing this I am completely inspired. This is a great amount of dedication. Great paints. Are they all digis?
@udonhead - Thank you, I am flattered!
@Phsychobuddy - It helps some having a lot of free time haha
@Pete Hidalgo - Thank you! Yes, all the painted images are done in Photoshop.
More studies. Lots of head construction and a portrait study of Sargent's "A Bedouin Arab". Edit: I'm also very excited to finally be on page #2 of this sketchbook now!
Nice enviros and nice master study, keep it up!
Fantistic job!!Keep it up!!
@JustinBeckett - Where did I come from? I have no clue! Pro in no time? Thank you haha
@naomi6mastro - Thanks!
Just some anatomy stuff for today.

Love your paintings - your so good with light and shade. oO And your amount of studies is really crazy - good improvement on your drawings. keep it up. I`ll have to subscribe to this sketchbook.
Wow! really making me want to study more!
you are doing great!
from where do u take all these figures?
@Klaustrophil - Haha thank you! Congratulations on being my first subscriber! (That I know of anyways)
@kevin_ - Thanks
@Chompi'n - I currently only study from photography for my figures (Next semester I'll have access to live models though finally), which can be found in this mediafire folder (Most of them anyways). I also collect photos from DA and Characterdesigns.com as well. And I really like Michael Hampton's approach to figure drawing & construction, which is what I primarily use.
Anyways, here's more anatomy sketching.
again - great studies
and super tnx for the link!! will definitely be in use (:
u can subscribe a thread? coool! I want too ho is it done? =P
@Chompi'n - This should help you out some with that I thinks.
Anyways, here's some hand studies on simple gesture and lay in, and more spheres to boot. Oh, and a bird study.
I love the female studies in post #39 and the mean looking birdy in post #46. Moar, moar!
The final bird study for now & some gesture stuff. Enjoy.
P.S. - To all of you who have been checking in on the thread, leaving comments, etc. thus far, thank you!
Just some perspective exercises for today. I wanna get into some vehicle design. These were done in ballpoint pen & without rulers, cos I want to be hardcore like that.
Wow, this is fantastic. Your lines are so crisp and stable, especially with those female studies!! Definitely keep working on faces and keep it up, you're amazing already. Only thing I might suggest is some stuff from imagination, to apply what you've learned!
@Starshaker - Thank you! Haha yeah I'm well aware of it. I'll start working more on that, I fell into a bit of a rut with studies and haven't had the confidence yet to climb out.
Edit: ^ I forgot to add that I plan to start participating in the weekly challenges now, starting with this weeks ID challenge (Paintball Gun), so hopefully that will get my imagination going!
More environment studies.

Incredible anatomy studies man, keep it up
It's great to see a hardworking teen! CA needs more youngsters pushing themselves like this.
You've got some really nice studies here, and it's great to see how much time you are investing into anatomy and construction--that will help you TONS down the road.
As others have said, make sure you are APPLYING these studies. When you don't apply them you forget a lot of the information you are learning. If you really want to solidify it in your head and get the most out of your studies you need to paint from your imagination, and do some life drawings from the model using what you learned from all your studies from photos. I look back at some of my older sketchbook pages and really regret to ratio of studies I did to other stuff. I learned a lot, yes, but I would have learned more if I applied them more. Actually I STILL do too many studies and not enough application haha...anyways, just some food for thought.
Since you are 18 you might like to try your hand at the Teen Challenge (hehe I feel like I need to advertise it when I can since I run it and there never seems to be enough traffic there). It would be a good chance to try out new things and do some original finished work.
Oh, and since you love construction so much you need to check out Kevin Chen. If you don't know him, I think you'll be a huge fan:

"If you always put limits on everything you do, physical or anything else, it will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them." -- Bruce Lee
@Andre-Sutherland - Thank you!
@Alrap - Thanks!
@Andrew Sonea - Thanks for the feedback! I am definitely in agreement with you, and I should be applying the studies more often. I am starting to get around to it finally, so perhaps I'll show up in the teen challenge sub-forum this week or next week And depending on how much time I have this week, I plan on trying the ID challenge this week. That link is awesome! I recognize his style from some images on analytic figure drawing that I have, but never had a name to go with the images, much less an entire gallery! Thank you for that!
Anyways, more perspective drawing. Freehand without rulers & done in pen.
Nice sketches man, I'll be keeping an eye on this thread. Keep up the good work
