maybe someone could help me... i've scanned in a few pics ive drawn.. and i want to color them using photoshop7 (or painter7). problem is... i want to color it, all the while keeping my original sketch (as if the sketch was on a transparent layer and i was painting under it). ive hunted around PS and *sorta* found what i was wanting with the Brush Tool's mode set to "multiply"... but i run into problems when wanting to add lighter colors (like lighting) or erasing my mistakes.
this is probably a very simple obstacle. but, this method of digitally coloring my ink drawings is new to me... i would much appreciate some help.
Daarken: I'm kinda new to painter and have been wanting to color line art like this. I looked at your method. I'm just wondering wouldn't it be easier to just after you do the Float and it makes a new layer just highlight the new layer and go Composite Method=Multiply, or is not doing the same thing as yours? I'm just curious as maybe your method gives a better effect or something or maybe mine is getting the wrong effect.
