Hello CA world, been lurkin here for a while and really need to start a sketchbook and get some feedback. So here goes nothing.
BTW I'm really unsure about where my strengths and weaknesses are, am I better at environments or people? etc. With comments I will always endevour to return the favour. Cheers.
You posted more environments than people so that should probably answer your question about which ones you do better.Post more stuff and you should probably take a second look at the four heads, more exactly on their eyes because they're too round and don't look realistic at all.I know procrastination is hard to get rid of,I'm struggling with it myself.Cheers!
Thanks for looking guys, much appreciated.
Kasblue: thanks, the dragon head did take a while, glad you like it.
Kriss: yeah I think I like enviros more, I just need to avoid making them too complicated. About the creature heads, it's good to get another perspective, I fully agree with you. They were ideas for the head of a Sea God in the last Dominance War. I definitely want to look at them again, thanks.
Your son came out really good! I got some heavier paper myself and I hope my next portraits will look better on them.By the way,did you use charcoal or graphite on this piece?
Thanks man it's graphite. I used a 2B to get some simple lines down, then moved onto a 4B for a good portion of the shading and finally a 6B for the darkest areas. All the while making sure I softly built everything up. Cheers.
Yeah, that's how I do my stuff too,2B then move on to 4B for the shading and dark areas but never used more than a 5B.Too bad anything softer than a 2B has a very short life span but as long as pencils are cheap it's no biggie.
You have some really great stuff here! Looking forward to see more in the future
Really like those storyboard sketches, looks like you have some great ideas, you just like me need to practice more to take them to the next level of awesomeness!
