Nice updates! The body sketches looks good. That armor is sweet. I like that you haven't over done it.
Ah, you just gave me inspiration to try myself, it looks quite funny to draw. But mine will not be as good as yours, for certain Keep on struggling, I'll be back!
Nice figures and gestures and all, keep it up!
these are excellent! i love your clean swift lines on your studies and figures/gestures
My sketchbook http://conceptart.org/forums/showthr...10#post3476310
-> GreenHouse : Hey thank you guy ! I'm happy to see you comin' so often It's very motivating
-> jNeumann ; Brave-New-World : Thank you guys ! That's so cool to see some people around here, I want to work more to improve and to show you more stuff !
Here's the stuff from the last days :
My daily warm up sketches...
A more detailed figure drawing, I'd like to work deeper in the shadows for the next one !
An anatomy exercise...
I saw the last Feng Zhu (this guy is soooo crazy !) video yesterday night, It inspired me and showed me a thing : I've never worked my lines with my intuos4 and never done vehicles.. So I thought to make a first test and enjoyed it a lot, even if the result is crappy ^^ I'll do this again
I was a bit nostalgic, the first things I drew when I was very very young were, like many kids, DINOSAURS ! So I decided to make some tries...
Some new stuff... :s
My first digital portrait.. WHAT A FAIL ! It's not finished but I think I'll go on another portrait because the proportions and the colors are wrong and I need to work a lot more on the whole thing.. Hoping the next will be better !
Some bridgman studies...
My warm up sketches from morning
Some speed sketches...
A study from life, the very first I've done on an easel and on "Format Raisin" which the english equivalent is "Royal" I think... I'll do some others this year..
New stuff !
A new try with portrait... :s
Some sketches for a personal project, an illustration
Morning warm up sketches..
A watercolor try for nude.. not very good, I will buy tubes of watercolors also to see the difference between them and pans (which I'm currently using)
Some indoor sketches... :s

The indoor sketches are nice!

Nice try on your first digital portrait from Game of Thrones! Itís not easy to get the proportions, colors and light in order. But I think youíre off to a good start. When I have studied many of the others work I noticed that itís a good idea to start the portraits blocking in the essential areas. Getting the proportions and the movement right in the first place helps tremendously. After that you can start with the details. This will help and saves a lot of time getting the image done. I can see youíre already using this technique better than me. Iím often starting with the details too early and then have to delete or paint over.
Hey, Gandalf! You should do more portrait studies, I think in a while they are going to be fabulous!
Those Brigman heads are nice and so are the watercolor nude.
ChisLu -> Thank you !
LakaÔ -> Thank you guy !
Greenhouse -> Hey! it's cool to see again ! Thank you ! Yes I'm going to work moreo n portrait to get some "believable faces"
Eleyon -> Thank you ! I haven't done much of this type of sketches but I'd like to make cool lines on this kind of stuff
I have a lot of problem with my internet connection, so here's some stuff and I hope to be able to continue to post regularly in the next days !
Bridgman studies !
A T-rex sketch for my future watercolor illustration ! (Can't wait to see the next issue of Imagine FX with PAUL BONNER !!!)
watercolor sketches, would like to improve my technique with watercolors, try some dry techniques maybe on illustrations (like P.B does )
A gouache study, I'm not happy with the rendering, I should have used more variations of color tones :s
I'm not really happy with my lines on digital stuff so I decided to work on it when I got some time spaces, using some loomis stuff !
My new BIG FAIL at digital portrait, I'm currently working on a new digital study, hoping that'll get better =)
My warm up sketches of the last days...
Jablar -> Thank you ! It's highly motivating
Kasblue -> You're right ! I'll pay more attention to proportions and construction, even in my imagination sketches...
A few new stuff,
From imagination, some skecthes for my illustration, I was sad to see that the pirate captain has too much "defaults" of proportions/construction... :s Have to be more aware of those...
My warm up morning sketches... ^^
Good to see youíre working hard! Nice Bridgman studies and the T-Rex is very nice. The watercolor sketches are also looking good. Thanks for the inspiration, I might try it out myself. I think watercolor is very hard to work with, but itís fun. I like the diversity of your sketches. I think itís good that youíve put lots of effort to the body sketching, because the hard work shows. Those lines look really fine! Keep on trucking! Youíre doing great!
GreenHouse -> Thank you my friend ! ;D
Some stuff from these days... Still have to work moar moar moar moar moar ^^
A new portrait, still have to pay more attention on proportions !
A sketch on "kraft" paper just because I love to play with he white pencil
Some hands from life, I'll do more of those, it's strange to draw and in the same time making your hand "pose" ^^
Some anatomy practicing
MY warm up...
New (bad) stuff here !
Michael Hampton studies !
A study on Royal format (french "Format Raisin"), it's the very first time I try pastel chalks... (it was on the evening course) we had 2hours to work on it ; it was hard, I need to try again !
a foot cast also evening course, we had 2hours, Royal format too :s
Bridgman ! (I love him ! ^^)
An outdoor sketch, a fail I'll do more of those, I have to observe more perspective... take more time !
Aaah, Sean Connery the man! I like this image and I think youíve captured the features quite good. It reminds me of this weekend when Iíll go and see Bond, Skyfall!!! Yeeey!!^^
The image beneath is very nice. I like how youíve played with the white pen and the shadows. Sheís also balanced and the proportions look accurate. Iím impressed by the diversity of your studies Hampton, Bridgman, architectural, body gestures and cloth! Great working spirit! Thanks for the inspiration!
Kasblue -> Thank you ! Yeah I'll try this ! Actually I'd like to work a bit more on environments and buildings, I don't enough of them...
Greenhouse -> Thank you guy ! Yes, Sean Connery is the best ! (Skyfall was quite good I saw it on friday ;D) ; you're welcome !
My new stuff, I hope that next time I'll have finished some of the personnal (shitty) stuff I'm currently working on ^^
An outdoor sketch, started watercolors on it but it also started to rain, i could'nt finish it
A fast indoor sketch
A fish study, done with watercolors..
My last photoshop study..
My warm up sketches !
New stuff !
My warm up sketches
A fail sketch at photoshop, I have to practice more imagination stuff...
A fail portrait..
Kasblue -> Thank you friend !
Here is some stuff, a lot of sketches, I decided to change the "warm up" routine and to try different media for "simple sketches" in the morning before choosing a theme to work for the day, which was these last days "hands" ^^, so, here is the crap :
Some last warm up sketches
Anatomy exercise !
1min sketches, I'll do more of those, instead of doing the "warm up routine" I think it could be a good exercise to begin with during the day
Hands from photos (last time they were from real life), I just realized that I had no idea of the "good proportions" of hands, so I decided to take Loomis to help me ! Then I'll do hands (lot of hands) from life !
Some sketches done during the morning
A fast sketch of my bro' (spideycreed on CA and DA), sketching too
A new try to make a new personal sketch, but I was going too fast and the result was fastly crappy, I decided to redo it, but taking my time to first make lines "correct" and then I'l put some shadows on, so there's the WIP of a very classical warrior... It made me realize also that I hadn't at all detailing knowledge for the art style I love : Realistic "overproportioned Fantasy" (Paul Bonner ), so I've started a bodybuilder photo references album to make studies, I'm currently working on arms ad will post them next time I think
Aah, awesome stuff going on here! I see youíre improving with those body gestures and those lines are great! Especially the one ďdone during the morningĒ in the last post. I wish mine was that good! Thanks for the inspiration!
The Bridgman and Loomis work from the two latest posts are awesome! You have captured the Loomis heads in a very good way! Iím looking forward to seeing more from the wip bodybuilder. Keep up the awesome work!
Hey Green' ! Thank you !
Here is the stuff from those days...
Hampton (I'll try to get more dynamic lines with my gesture drawing with him !)
A watercolour/ink fast sketch, watercolours are so funny, I will do more with them !
A graphite study of a plate... the ellipse is wrong -_- I have been to dummy not to see this during the construction... in the end, not cool study, I'll try again !
Some stuff !
I've changed a bit my way of working, being more aware of the idea of "exercizing", I work more with the idea of "learning by coping from masters" (and not simply copy to record) and then apply to photos/imagination/mind for practicing, I think it'll help me for making evolve my lines and my understanding of things
Here is a fail portrait...
Some 1min sketches but I was absolutely not happy with them...
... So I decided to work on gesture drawing this morning, by learning from hampton and then train myself with photos (the sketches in colors)
Thank you Kasblue ! I think I'm starting to reach the "recognizable" step of portrait but I'm still very very far away from "the cool portrait" step ^^, will work moar and moar and moar !!!
Some stuff !
Some fast sketches of my bro and my father ^^
Some bridgman stuff, the blue ones were done from memory, hiding the others, it's crazy how it helps to record and understand better anatomy, I should have proceed this way a long time ago !!
Some Arm training, with anatomy from Loomis (the blue one was from memory again, hiding the model), it's also very interesting that it's far away easier to memorize the muscles while you learn their names, cause their names show you very well their role ! And also two studies from photos of bodybuilders, to see how a muscled arm looks like in real life..
Some hand training, the first one were from loomis and the others from life.. Still have to do thousands of them before they'll get good !
Not a lot of stuff here (I got some work in progress ;D ) but I've done my very first class of nude model and I have some questions..
So, first here's the bridgman training, with some work from memory
And here are some 5min figures from life BUT, I didn't really understood why the teacher told me that it was "forbidden" to construct, even a line for the vertebral column or a pelvis line or a shoulder line... Is this an exercize to observe the best you can without using construction (because the poses are short?) Is it a good way to practice life drawing? Anyway, it was o A3 format and for the time on an easiel so I've done very very crappy stuff :'(
And here the barbarian, I've learned a lot with him but the final resut is very crappy, I hope the next personnal project will be better ! (actually, I could have pushed him a lot more but I've spend too much time on him ...)

A failed study...
Foot Training (Hampton + Simbley)
Refreshing proportions with Loomis
An outdoor sketch, the perspective isn't really good.. I was above the farm, next time I'll do some animals ^^, But today the weather was too cold, I wasn't feeling my fingers anymore
And some Bidgman studies, next step with the torso : Memory work !
