Study I'm gonna refine a bit more and I will be posting sketchbook pages soon when I stop be too lazy to photograph/scan them lol
Thx man, and yep, I'll try my best to push that study some more soon .
Here a still life and some super crappy material studies lol
Couple of pencil drawings I need to finish, can't get the darks dark enough with the pencil though without damaging the paper
Man, you're showing a lot of improvement in just 8 months. I like how you're focusing on black and white values as well, something I try to do more of myself.
The pencil drawings are looking good as well.
My Sketchbook: Criticisms and Feedback needed
"A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step."
Lao-tzu, The Way of Lao-tzu
bish0p2004- Thx so much man, it really means a lot, and yep, only gonna work in b/w for now. Plus, I'm slightly colour blind lol, but I've saw artists do great colour stuff who are so that shouldn't matter .
Some sketchbook stuff and an update on the bust drawing
Yay, the sites back, been a while, like the new skin and layout though.
Heres some sketches .
Heres an illustration I have to do, the big blobby things represent the other character portraits just put them there to show the overall compositional shape. I think it really sucks so far and it's really beginning to stress me out so any tips or advice would be great thx
Quick update on this, kinda sucks but I'm happy with the composition.
Almost finished, completely sucks ass though, will upload some sketchbook pages tomorrow
Some crappy updates, need to start getting back to a routine
Quick local values study
Semi quick photo study, will post more fundamental based stuff tomorrow
ScindoMedia- Thx so much man, really means a lot
Ok, so heres some perspective studies, some portrait scribbles from life, photo and imagination, and a backlighting study
Perspective drawing from today, pretty much a study. Gonna work on some other drawings now though and probably finish this another time, but I probably won't be able to upload for another few days because I'll be busy with other work
Just some speed drawing crap from today, trying to work on getting more clean and confident lines, but some seriously messed up sketches in there lol, oh and the vehicle stuff was just something I had to do so just ignore that, just posted it to show I was doing something
Update- Little update on the perspective thing, metal still life fail, and lots of anatomy sketches, still don't know how all the muscles in the arm are layered exactly lol.
Quick study, realize how muck the values suck now lol
Some stuff from today, started sketching in pen and I love it. Everything is from life except that girl doodle on the single page, she's from imagination shows too lol
it is nice to see your improvement over time it is quite insparational

care- Thx a lot man, and yeah I always mess the proportions of the eyes up haha, oh and I'll totally check that group out
Just some fundamental stuff from today, bit boring but learned some stuff
You have wrote a tome of success with your sketchbook for this year, just
looking back from the first page till now, the improvements and the evolution
is amazing. The field that you have most improved is the 3D subjects, the
understanding of certain objects and buildings, I admire how you handle
some of the modern 3D software, like Maya or Zbrush. However I think
that you are still a bit behind with your portraits and your regular pencil designs.
So you should focus more on traditional pencils in matter to improve in digital
also, but a lot of them said this already most probably. Before you start to render
any of your portraits, make sure that the proportions are right, the eyes nose mouth
and so on. Cause If you render out perfectly a badly drawn thing, it will still look
wrong and wonky. In the end, donít get discouraged by anything, no matter what
happens, you think positively and keep drawing and painting. Improvements
will come on a natural path, but you already know that. So be good,
and draw more, till our next meeting, keep the candles burning.
Thanks for stopping by my sketchbook! There's some awesome progress here, I especially like your pencilwork. But something I would recommend that you take a look at is the edges in your digital stuff.
Here's a couple of videos you might find intresting regarding that subject:
Ctrl-Paint is an overall awesome website that you, if you haven't already, should look further into! It has helped loads with my art.
I hope you find this usefull. Keep on rocking!
