Can anyone recommend good quality and preferably affordable books of Bargue drawings or a similar 19th-century Academic book? I suppose I could just print out high-resolution photos of Bargue drawings but there's something about having a collection of his drawings in a book that really appeals to me. A book that closely resembles something that a student in the 19th century would draw and learn from (so preferably one that has a specific progression - facial features to full faces to body parts to full figures, etc) would be most excellent.
I recently saw Lumen Picturae: A Classical Drawing Manual at my local B&N. Its from the 1600s and its all engravings rather than lithographs, so not as applicable to charcoal or graphite as Bargue, but its a beautiful book, well printed and affordable.
