Hello, starting my sketchbook with a copy of a Bouguereau painting. Finally started studying some of the old masters. I'm hoping to get better confidence with my lines and understanding of form, so I plan on doing a lot of sketching. Really want to drill the fundamentals home. Please feel free to comment.
Portrait of Mena Suvari, found it in a google image search.
Liked doing the first portrait so I decided to do another. Found this one in google image search too.
Congrats on making a sketchbook! Nice start. Don't be afraid to use bold, confident strokes and get really messy. Control can kill the energy in your work. I know because I have this problem myself.
Some more grey scale practice.
