Did you mean if 3D was used as starting point? No.
I did 3D when drawing was too annoying . I just know some basics.
I'd love to work more with zbrush but don't have the time.
thx, I really like brad rigney's work.
no you are totally right. It also was mentioned before i guess. Have to work on that.
You could use soft round brush or the smudge tool this may help.
wow! so impressed by the tones and blending. My paintings look like they were done with a fork!
To the air...
Yeah dude i really love your colors and rendering. I'll agree with Mikko that a lot of them have that "stubby" feeling to them i cant quite put my finger on it though.
Thxs for the comments.
Yep they are kinda stubby its a proportion problem .
If the average person is 7 1/2 to 8 heads in measurement mine is often around 6, i guess thats the problem ... really need to focus on this next time.
Eternal Apprentice I work digitally intensly for about 2 years.
I had my first tablet 4-5 years ago. Before that i used most of the time pencils.
Your newer stuff seems to be getting a bit more texture to it. Especially mr dental plan there
That's a pretty sweet Lord of the Rings screen man. Word
Thx for the kind words!
Have some new stuff.
I'm kinda happy with the texture of the dinosaur.
I did the image with the 4 guys standing around the crystal ball for a friend. The subject is what he wished to see, not my taste . I'm not that happy with it, tried some new workflow which leads in a way to clean rendering, anyways I dont want to get it moldy laying just on my pc.
Gorgeous paintings! The lighting is great. I think maybe the skin rendering is a bit lacking (compared to the rest mind you as its still very good)
Have you seen Sam Neilson's work? http://artsammich.blogspot.com/ He also has an online workshop at schoolism. There might be something of he has posted or whatever that might be helpful to you as just a small extra push in rendering and surface consideration and you will be on your way to Jaw dropping
Man that line work is a bit tasty! I love the character you've given them
Great sketchbook! I really enjoy looking through your works. Though, sometimes they feel a little bit too pure.. I mean, for example a warrior having a skin of a newborn, or monster looking like it would walk out of straight out of SPA session. ..but that's just me. Nevertheless, it seems you have a good understanding of colors, light, proportions ^^ I especially like your faces, I enjoy that gray girl with dotty texture on skin. It feels way more natural, alive. I guess, it could be even better if you would make it more random
Thx for the comment guys thats really motivating.
heres just a small update. Have alot of unfinished pieces here I try to finish soon I'd better set a time limit next time .
So at least a small update.
Tried to get smoother lineart and more texture with this.
Great clean work Lakai! keep it up
