This is a piece ive been working on, i want to say its ready but it just seems to empty to me still, though i have a nack of cramming to many things into one piece of art. Cant make up my mind on weather it needs something more.
If you are going for a space scape, maybe some asteroids, some distant planets, a nebula, maybe a sun or two.
If you are going for sci-fi, a space station, vehicles, aliens etc.
Right now this looks like something out of a science book. Think of what kind of message or story you are trying to convey. Will there be a space battle? Is there a large asteroid coming towards the planet? This will help give the image some more life.
The repeating star brush looks really artificial and noticeable (all of their shines are pointing the exact same way and are the same size) and is the planet supposed to look so dead and dry? It's just pretty boring to look at like that, there could be seas, atmosphere with clouds, maybe life and cities with their lights visible on the other side? Or a moon or something.
Im going for a more natural look rather than a SciFi one on this image. It is supposed to be a dead planet having slowly grown closer to its sun eventually become one dry rock with few traces of intellagent life that did not get much further than the stage of caveman.... Lol i like to write out bios for my images, anyway ill try and throw in some more stuff for the back ground, thanks for the tips..... (Ill also play around with the settings on the noise, which is what i used for the stars and try and a more realistic look for it cause now that you mention it it does look artificial and this is supposed to be a realistic looking image.
