Man oh man so much awesome stuff. On this page alone I'm totally digging Jagder and Mr. Gadbury's work.
Really rough stuff, some thumbnails sketches on paper and then starting to work on the shape and silhouette in photoshop. I'm approaching him in a less "bad ass" orc manner but more an intelligent, cunning orc with an axe to grind. I want his eye-gouging to have meaning, since that's more interesting to me than a raging mindless war machine. Anyhoo enough talk, drawings!
photoshop (I'd appreciate crits on this, not sure that his legs are right):
More sketchies. I'm gonna use the bigger one from this sheet as a starting point. I think he probably has some anatomy & proportion issues (his left shoulder & leg need to be broader?) but I've been looking at these too long. Feedback appreciated!
Hey M ..the background is nice and the Orc is nice ...but somehow they dont work together for me ( actually when I first saw the background I thought " oh, cool thing, he starts anew " ) maybe it will come along when you work into some transitions but as for now ...I dont feel it :-/
YouAreNotAlone, nice start, looking forwards to see it envolve AdrianNagorski, nice start, think you have some anatomic problems there. His breast seems a bit odd and his belly seems very long. jagder, awesom, love what you are doing Ishren Nice start mate. m8y, great start, i d love to see it envolve Mr.Gadbury, fantastic!! Would love to see an orc from you for this CHoW too ryansumo, i like your rough sketches much more than the one you did with photoshop. They have much more dynamic, the one you made with photoshop feels rather stiff and i think it shifts to the right. Flipping your pieces horizontal often helps to see that better Also i think his legs spread a lot, maybe a bit too much, but thats just my personal opinion. Tommoy, nice sketch so far! Meteja, awesome orc so far. I have to agree to Partisan concerning the background, but it might change if the pic envolves Smolin, nice sketches and good decicion to go with the one on the right side. Heliux, nice start. I think you have some anatomical issues going on. The upper arms seem to be a little bit too long.
Sry, but i cant mention you all right now
Some first sketches from me to get some access to the topic, not sure how it will go on
late start , but im rushing out a quick sketch for now , no idea about what hes ultimately gonna end up looking like , will make changes on the way , comments and crits plz
i wanted to go for a humourous exaggerated comic art kinda style this time though ,.... (* zones out and starts experimentin' away * )
Yeah, i often use allot of photo refs, google them and use as starting point, take a look at my previous entries, and step by step in my sb.
It is part of process, after collage, i paint to get what i want. We already have this discussion. I am not going to use it bluntly.

I feel like I will never finish one of these, I hate starting over and over and over but I keep not liking all of my stuff :/ I'm at one of those stages where none of my work is up to scratch, at least, I don't think it is. The bottom half is unfinished. http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...1&d=1312417696
