working on a character. Let's call her a sword-wielding Viking opera singer girl (?). Going for a cuter style, something like this and this lovely illustrator whom I adore
started with the sketch and now currently working on photoshop color. Comments and Critiques on anything would be very much appreciated!!
restarted with some of the same colors. tried adding some effects in Photoshop. I want it to be light and flowing, nothing too heavy. Recognizable shapes of color that make it easy to read. I am heavily inspired by the artist I linked in the previous post.
Is it not readable? Is it confusing or off-putting in any way? As before, comments and critiques would be appreciated!

Her eyes are really bugging me. It's like one is dropped down.

"Skill is the result of trying again and again, applying our ability and proving our knowledge as we gain it. Let us get used to throwing away the unsuccessful effort and doing the job over. Let us consider obstacles as something to be expected in any endeavor; then they won't seem quite so insurmountable or so defeating." - Andrew Loomis
The pic itself is totally not my style so I can't really comment much. But I noticed the purple for the background is really bright and kind of dims the character. Dimming / desaturating the background a little might help the character come out forward a little more and add the illusion of more warmth and depth as well.
Hey you! Yes, you! Crit me!
