So,voilá some sketchbook pages
The last image is actually a painting I did for an art exhibit here in Varna,Bulgaria. Some CC would be nice too
Hey again.Been a long time, been really busy ,done a bunch of work, but not nearly enough. Here are today's stuff.
#1 - The animal studies in #4,i tried to change them in a bit drastic and interesting way.I was trying as much as i could to keep the changements different from one another , so i can learn more.
#2 - A motion capture of the body,learned a lot.
#3 - I started actually studying some of Algenpfleger's sketches , so all the pages marked with a circled A are filled with copies of his sketches.
#4 - Animal studies
#6 - don't really know.I just liked the thought of a medieval atmosphere and the two dangling rats , so i drew them and built everything around them.
Comments and critics would really make my day
Been away for a week on vacation.I have been drawing there as much as i could.A sketch or two a day. Here they are.Could not draw digitally,so that was a bummer I really hope to get som crits, since i feel i'm in a rut artistically.Un advice, tip or a superficial revue would be awesome!
Hey bud, great work so far! I'm looking forward to seeing more ;D
Can't really scan my actual sketchbook stuff,so only digi today.I'm REAAAAALLY not happy with my digital stuff. Please give me some tips on how to improve on using colors, values etc i need some serious ass kicking right now!
3-a doodle while listening to Bobby Chiu
Hey man, that's cool I love drawing too and I love wizards.
Seems like the crit you need most right now is to watch proportions & symmetry.
You did good in this one; maybe use the same approach with your figures and stuff from imagination. Try it anyway. Use those methods when imagining. It will go slow at first, but once your mind grabs on to the 3D shapes it will never let go... trust me... it will drive you insane
Keep rockin & rollin'
nice pencil studies indeed! Anyhow, I must agree with p_sage: practicing anatomy is probably the most important thing.
I learned a lot from this amazing tutorial: http://warrenlouw.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d2p3au1
You should check it out
Never cease to draw, you're doing good.
made a new schedule, hope it gives me the necessery boost.
an incredibly crappy environment
a premier sketch of future painting,I'm actually quite pleased with it.

Nice looking SB. You got some rlly good studies and ideas going on. Seeing some solid improvement and those hands are coming together nicely. That last piece that you did looks interesting wud love to see you work on similar compositional ideas through thumbnails anyways keep them coming!
Some Bridgman head studies.
just playing around with textures...
Btw can someone help me with a way to scan and post quicker my stuff 'cuz everytime i do it, it takes like 20 mins at least, and it's kind of tiring.

just came back from a trip... it was sooo fun
Some crappy poses
in the car sketches ,they were actually made in ballpoint blue pen but i accidentally scanned them in greyscale
aand a couple of sketchbook pages
i got reaally bored with the screencap so i left it at this level
and a photo study from today, the back was just exhausting , and it turned out horribly :X , didn't need to do the ropes,i was focusing on the body.
c ya next time!GOING BACK TO DRAWING

Nice sketchbook Rastaray, definite progress here already. The best advice I can give at this stage is to really work on the anatomy and perspective studies for a while and get a solid grounding in that. If no one has mentioned them already the Loomis books are great for this.
Nothing wrong with doing figure studies from photos as practice but if you can possibly get to a life drawing class or drop in session this will be a lot more beneficial for your progress. If you are practicing from a photo I'd recommend printing out and working from that, as this will force you to find the colours and values by eye, rather than using the colour picker (I'm not saying that's the method you used here, but its tempting to do!)
*Lightpunk -Thanks ,I would love to go to a life drawing class, but i don't think there are any here,or if they are they are probably too expensive. Will do some research though
Gonna be a reaally crappy post sorry about that
The past few days I have been trying to sort of fill up my pages better.
Did some studies and digis too- studies fun, digis terrible
damn , i should draw more :@

Great start, you're so much more advanced than I was at 16. I love the realism in your pieces.
Your anatomy is fairly good but I see you struggle with the movement of limbs and the flexibility of a limb (the limits to which it can bend). I suggest getting a mirror, a full length one would be best. If you struggle with a pose, do that pose in the mirror and draw it. It helps alot, same with facial expressions, you can make the expression then draw it. Having a mirror will also help you with dynamic perspective.
Keep it up!
Hey dude, all these studies you're doing is awesome, and you're only 16! Keep it up! The only thing I would say is for the movie screenshot: try to get rid of all that white space really early on in your study. Get the basic tones down everywhere before you start to render. It will help keep your eye on the entire image rather than in details. Awesome work.
* Art-n-Coffee ->thanks,man! I do have a big mirror and i try to use it,although it's a bit confusing sometimes
* bogan ->thanks so much for the advice!I guess i just got carried away off of my base sketch.
OK so here's some more stuff : sketches, studies etc and a digital still life i don't think i'm going to finish cuz i can't really figure out what to put behind the apple buuut whatever.Next post will be sooner!!!
