Lighter life study from last night
very cool works. my fav is the watercolor and the 3d works the car model is awesome
Loads of neat work here!
I absolutely love the architecture stuff and watercolor. I oughta do some of that myself.
Guy or gal oh so fine
please take a look
and maybe drop a line
in my sketchbook
Hahaha love the tweaked GoT study. It's fitting for a man like Pycelle. Hope those tentacle things get him! :p Anyway, I'm digging the architectural work in here you've got a real knack for it. Would love to see more. You also did a really good job on the car model. Your people still need a lot of work but I can see your working on that. Stock up on those anatomy books and if you can may I recommend figure drawing classes? I start mine tomorrow and I'm so excited. I hear nothing but good things about them. Well anyway, good luck and keep drawing!
kevlar_jens: Thank you! Ill try to do more watercolor painings in the future
twilightmoon777: I'm glad you like it. And yeah, I realise my knowledge of anatomy is almost as low as it can get.. If everything goes well I'm gonna start figure drawing classes (drawing classes in general) in september.
I did some color studies of the human body (no colorpicking) and found out this is one of my weaknesses. I'm gonna do more of them asap.
Below that there's my school assignment ; we had to create a "bum-ball" participant (It's like the Gum-ball race, but for hobos )
I'm not really happy with the result but it was due to lack of time.
-little background story if he guy: Antonio became homeless when his wife died. She was responsible for the income.
When she died Antonio had no money and the bank claimed his house to pay his debt.
The loss of his wife had a huge impact on his mental heatlh. He kept thinking about her and he began to see his wife in common objects.
Now he has ‘recreated’ his wife and plays songs on his violin all day long for her. He wants to participate with the bum-ball race to buy presents
Some quick environment color studies
This last post is wonderful! Where do you have the reference from?
I think what the envos and most of your work need is a bit more mood, a bit more soft/hard edge variation.
But as these are colour studies, i'll say they're quite good. Seems like a real challenge doing these, much colour variation. Great work!
BlackDelphin Thanks! I'm having trouble eyeballing colors. When I colorpick them afterwards they don't match very well.. but thats why I practice
And yeah.. hard/soft edge variation is something I still have to discover
I took the reference from the National Geographic site (link)
E.O.W Round #193: The Venetian Queen's Floating Palace
Pen&ink + photoshop
Thanks! I'll be sure to drop by there and have a look.
So you're the one with this EOW idea! I saw it in a hurry this morning, and really liked it.
The details it has and yet the simple block in method is a style i always liked.
Keep working at it, improvement is bound to happen
thanks a lot for your comment Jarkuzy. much appreciated.
so i've to say: WOW ... i'm speechless. love absolutely your 3D artwork. mostly the Taiwan city you did. That's great.
And I see you posted some architectural studies like the church.
Keep going and do more stuff!
BlackDelphin Thank you! I'm glad you like it
T-Eight Thank you for the kind words!!
Master study of 'The rapture of psyche' by William Bouguereau (1895)

i envy the industrial design qualities and neatness and confident lines in here.

Good show lad, great effort so far and your progress is evident. I very much enjoy the jellyfish sketch on the first page.
Sporus Thank you for stopping by man! I'm glad you like it, but I realise I still have a long long way to go.
And I can see how that music inspired your painting(s) :p
Xamllew Thank you for the kind words! I appreciate it
Teen challenge 173: Sword in stone
Forest env + gestures for the spartan camp (16 more pages with gestures to come! )
Hi there, thanks for visiting my SB
Your work looks very promising, can't really give any feedback other than keep up the great work I hope DAE is working out good for you (I only did 1 year there) but from what I can see you seem to have a very good work ethic
Lav: thanks Lav! And yeah, I hope i'll be able to finish dae without too many extra years '
some more gestures +
Bran Castle (Dracula’s Castle)
so i had a look through your sketchbook and wow i was impressed!
Your gestures are brilliant great flow throughout all of them! I would try pushing values in pencil to get more of a contrast try looking at the reilly method.
Your architectural studies are interesting and great eye candy. love the church interior a classic view. I would aim for making sure all the lines are straight and i think not using a ruler really helps train your coordination. Also i really loved the water colours great stuff.
the colour figure studies were great, i think you could really benefit from starting to analyse and use diffent types of edges in your painting... like soft hard and firm edges.
I think maybe you need a little work on perspective, making sure things are at the right angle depending on the horizon line (the shovel in the garbage machine thing)
Also i liked the plan view things were you trying to construct them through the top and front views? cool stuff
I think the font on the hobo study doesnt match the page.
The 3d models are ace.
great work! keep it up.
Dude awesome book! The progress is very outstanding to say the least. You have soaked up a lot of knowledge and it does show.
I really like this one but a few things pop out as weird for me
The first one is the cliff with the waterfalls dont seem as large as what I think you were going for (However I could be incorrect). When I look at it the scale just doesn't seem right. It almost feels like it is about as high as a 5-6 story building . Which in reality that is high size of the trees below are drawn as if they are hundreds of feet below the cliff. I cant find a good image but the scale doesn't seem to really be there.
The second thing that jumps out at me is the detail in the background. Heres some what of a good examplehttp://www.mavericksonlineden.com/fo...ictures005.jpg The foreground side where the mountains shadow is you see the detail like in your image under the cliff. But as you progress forward you see less detail.
The last thing is the giant tree on the left. Seems a bit out of place and it looks like it leads to the top of the cliff.
Overall dude this is an awesome image that I really enjoyed. And don't take my crit to serious cause you are far better than I am. And If I am wrong someone feel free to correct me! Keep up your hard work dude I will be coming back for sure!
Thanks guys for the comments!! I'll reply later..
Here's some lame-ass cloud study
