You.Are.Awesome. very rad nose studies sir
So if anyone's been watching Dave's streams lately....he's been talking about errr well time management I guess....it's hard to explain...I forget what he called it...but basically the principle is: work will fill the time allotted to it...errr in simpler terms if you give yourself an hour to do something you'll do it in an hour. Well with this new figure study thing that's what I did...this is me working at full speed for an hour. I'm pretty excited cause I actually think that it is some of the best work I've ever done....at least in terms of rendering.
OH, and the legs are just well some legs haha.
keep up the studies man
dig the leg studies you just posted
have a good one
sketchbook updated October 6th
keep on going bro. You are in the right track
Just keep pushing any weakness you think you have.
Most important of that is to draw a lot! (And thats what youre doing!)
You said your color suck, if i can give you an advice is try to understand the basics first. Those foundations will help in the future to understand how to combine and make it pop from the page.
keep rockin mate
tronrobot: Thanks much man!
wasabi89: Thanks so much, I'm just worried I might be spending too much on the stuff like lines and gray scale...I dunno man it's a difficult journey...haha
Hey guys, so these is my welll I'm calling it my Deathline sketch....it's the one I did during the deathline speech haha...I think it's a massive improvement over my other portraits so far...man I fucking PUMPED! HAHA LET"S DO THIS!
Wasn't sure if I would show the values....cause they kinda look like crap....but I like showing things...even if they suck haha...hopefully it'll get me critique or something I dunno...haha also tried my hand at an imagination portrait...I learned I need to do MORE portraits....just cause I have a little success....I'm not good enough to do it sans ref...gonna push this to the max!
wasabi89: Thanks for all the support man!
Hey guys...sorry this is such a boring page...well it's a boring SB in general...I feel like even though I'm making progress...I'm not making enough progress...when I try to flesh something out from imagination...it just fails hard....the values always kill it. I mean I can draw the poses okay, but when it comes to elaborating on that....it just fails, also if I try to dress them...ugh I don't really know the answer to this stuff. I dunno maybe I'm just stuck in a rut. Ugh it's like my progress can't keep up to my I dunno ambition...
well I'll stop whining now and go back to art...no time like the present to get better.
Lovely figure work as always. I agree that your contour/linework seems way ahead of your tonal/value level. Don't give up! keep doing lots of life color/value studies, I really liked the apples
Hey you! Yes, you! Crit me!
My CA.org Sketchbook 1 Last page Bashing much needed and appreciated!

cloudcan: Thanks, means a lot coming from you! But yeah, I always said I didn't want to go down the Alex Pascenko route, not saying I'm as good as him or anything to that effect...but yeah I always just hoped that I wwouldn't let one skill eclipse all the others...oh well just gonna have to keep trying.
Portrait/ head things are my big accomplishment for today...haha pretty neat...some progress in these me thinks...
Looking good I would LUV some pencil Anyway I say use more hard brushes next time. Cheers !
Your work is cool~ buddy
and thx for visiting my SB
Ven S: Not gonna make any promises but...there could be some this week.
ear5cm: Thanks man anytime!
Am I spamming...by doing this...dunno...forum etiquette escapes me sometimes...I'll I know is that I really kinda like this sketch, even though it sucks haha...
The biggest problem I have with doing this sort of black and white stuff is fleshing out the pose...I have such trouble working in black and white....but at the same time I find it extremely liberating and easy to get some ideas from...
