You gotta love fish and chips...There's a huge amount of salt and fat to clog those arteries, but, sometimes you just can't resist the grease....
I'm really easy as to where we all go in the day.. I'd probably prefer the museum, or somewhere that has interesting things to draw..The Wallace collection looks pretty good too... But i'm happy to go with the majority..
well - I reckon travelodge is safe for you two ladies, so good choice! safety is important for a memorable trip amongst new and old friends/comrades
Man if someone didn't know where manchester was i think a different f word would be better, foreigner or... forgetful...Originally Posted by Flynn

Right crew, i dunno if i'm still down for the 16th, arg, uni work and stuff.
Dirty_C i think there is a conspiracy against you getting 5stars, just seems weird, oh well i bet you can do some blurry, harshly toned figure drawings, they seem to get 5stars quick...
It'd be pretty awesome if something could get going here. Me and my 3 friends meet on Monday evenings to sketch Manchester to pieces. We've still got loads to go at yet.Originally Posted by Flynn

Watch this city...:p
I'd prefer a field trip to the Lake district, Linconshire, Wessex or Snowdon, or Tintagel! Any takers this spring?
Well the lakes (Keswick) is about 2 hours drive for me. The trouble is getting the weather.
Tintagel... I have no idea where that is...it sounds amazing.
"Mountains gandalf!, I want to see mountains again!"
Yes i'd be very interested in any other those places. CAdventure
Tis be the end of the world in UK
well spring/summer is a coming. it be nice to have a group of peeps for these or just you and me - ala brokeback Tintagel. har har. seriosuly. the main logisitc problems is getting to tantagel. must have car or car space. Prob can fit a group of 4 for a comfortable ride from london to n Cornwall over a fri/sat/sun weekend period
Anyone live Bedford or near lol? I've never sketched with someone before would be great.
hmmm - as logn as thre is an electrical supply handy, tea, cakes, scones and somewhere to bed for the night....and handy outdoos/farmyard. am all for it
lol its not that rural unless you drive into country side even everyone there has electricity and tv lol
heres the town
yes wow i hear you cry ( i think its an old pic)
heres some random countryside which is typical of some areas not too far
Its not at all farmy where i live it used to be really industrius but the steel works has closed now....random fact for you
oh and another random fact- a lot of LS Lowry's work was of ebbw vale.....
but before at the bus stop i go to get my bus to college, aparantly there were chickens there
and its not very surprising if theres cows or sheep along the main road o.0
err - who is LS Lowry?
btw, how far is Dinefwr Castle . Would be interesting to do a south wales castle run/sketch session

Hey guys, wassup?
I was shown this place by quicksilver, who I met on another forum, and am hoping to come to the meet on the 16th, but I won't be there as early as some of you guys an gals.
As for Tintagel, If thats the way you wanna go, there's a big ass re-enactment event during the summer that might be cool for you guys to go to. Its over a bank holiday weekend and has hundreds of medievil reenactors there, with several battles and other stuff happening as well as living history villages etc. I can get you guys the dates if you're interested.
Looking forward to get to know you guys.
Yes, all are, tho, there may be some exhibits in the museums/galleries where you have to pay, but dont worry about that....Originally Posted by lefran
What do you guys want to see? Theres plenty on offer...
- draw big ass sculptures(V&A),
- do tonal drawings of master works(-National Gallery),
- do studies of Medieval Armour(-at the Wallace Collection)
- visit tall buildings (-Canary Wharf)
- see some Oriental art (British Museum)
- Tate Modern, Tate Britain
DC - nice bot, as I've said before...and thanks for posting in me thread...yes, you should pop by the ice box academy sometime, well, when it gets warmer and we start up life drawing again;
I've updated me sketch thread too if anyones interested...
Welcome to the forums, Zac~ ^_^ 'hope you can make it!
I'm up for the Medieval armour (Wallace) and Oriental art (Brit). How about you guys?
Where are we all meeting, btw? Are we gonna pick a museum and meet there or raid a cafe? My friend said there were a few exhibitions going on around that time, though I can only remember her mentioning the Tate. I don't know when she finishes college so I'll call her in a couple of hours.
We have all day, so maybe going to more than one place could be an option? I suppose molly or cartoonfox, or anyone else who knows london, should sort out a meeting place...
This is me!............................................... ....................
experience tells me more than 1 museum/gallery/thing is not a good idea.Originally Posted by yAdam
i say we choose one of the museums on offer, and then go there for a few hours before heading off to sit and draw for the rest of the day. sound a little "light" but trust me you don't want to be walking round london all day ^__^
here's my mobile>>> 07866021823
add me and phone if you get lost! ^__^ (molly, christian, kim etc, it's the same number)
Sounds good to me...
