Sketchbook: Jacob Anderson's Sketchbook - Page 3
I know the entries are done... but its a nice way to draw something when I don't know what to draw and want to (should) draw something.
Have been thinking of this for a while. Wanted to flesh it out a bit while its still fresh in my brain.

Spartan riding Dragon
I thought of putting the Halo:Reach Spartan on my Skyrim Dragon. If I saw this in real life I'd run away.
About an hour, trying to keep document at one size to prevent getting sucked into detail.
Red Amaryllis Flower
About 45 minutes, in gouache.
Highway in the Fog
I painted this as soon as I got home. While driving home, I fixated on what was in front of me, and really enjoyed the atmospheric depth the drizzly fog produced.
Painted from memory.
Bog from Life
This is a sketch from life. Trying a minimal, abstract approach.
Sid Rackham always loved coming home to his polluted city. The air was hell to breathe, but it sure was pretty.
Another hour long doodle.
4x4.5 inches, watercolor and gouache photo-study. I was experimenting with the hard edges found in mountains.
Looking forward to seeing more posts. Here's to the challenging pursuit of this craft! Good luck and keep pushing!
Inspire Pro Sketch 2-12-12
So I decided to trace over some girls. Before you all chop my head off, I was doing it for a reason, to see how many heads they all had. Wait, that didn't come out right...
Eh, y'all get what I mean.
I didn't do an EXTENSIVE survey, but 7 seems to be a fairly safe number for the length of the body related to the head attached to the body.
It kind of blew my mind.
Here is the studying.
Here are the doodles. ...I stopped at the last one, my academia started running away.
In between thumbs and sketches. Tried not to limit myself to one idea. Helped the creative process.
