And then I totally freaked out and ditched all this because the flyer had to be at the printer in the damned morning and it was allready 23:00. I dug in my transdimensional pack of holdings and came up with enough reference material I could set up and shoot a nice still life with. Wrote the facts on paper and shot that too. Bingo. 01:00 and I can sleep before I go to work. Maybe I should take up photografie and dirch the drawing, huh?
She´s the one who casts the magic that holds together the free culture house where all arts meet and can be. The final piece lacks the dynamic of the second sketch but it was kinda more important to come up with something that everybody recognized right away as her.
These were my references. Hope you´ll recognize her. There by pirates, arrrrrrrr. Rwarrr.
Okay now for the sketches:
And the finished piece:

And now for this beeing a sketchbook, here are some sketches I did at the airport and on the road (hilarious idea about a "mobile cheese fondue") and in a café next to a big fointain. The dog had fun chasing the water.
okay, Iīll try to alternate actual stuff happening with recently done stuff here now.
This was an old sketch for a DSG, insect shaman I think, I was so unsatisfied with that I trashed the whole thing. When found yesterday I thought, well, why not put some lines into it. But good gawd, those hands. C & C welcome as allways.
Hi, thanks for stopping by my book
I like your hatching style, very cool. Varying line weight around the edges of limbs and the head probably would have made the last pic read a bit better. Sweet helm he's got.
It looks like you're running sharpen passes on your digital colours in most instances, which can really spruce up a pic, but if pushed too far can sometimes mess around with detail a bit too much. I'm assuming that accounts for the white internal outlines in the flat shading of the pirates, which is rather distracting. You might want to save it for lineless pics as it's going to knock smooth edge off your lines.
Most of your anatomy seems pretty spot on, but in some cases it's mysteriously awry, like they praying girl's massive head / tiny hands, and the neck length and arm musculature on the latest girl. But these things happen.
Oh and your spaceships are great.
Dreamworker Thanks for stopping by again. I´m glad that somebody else likes it. I allways think I could´ve taken my stuff further but with something like this I rather play safe. But I was really happy with it I admit.
Snarfevs Hey there. Thanks2U for returning the compliment. I really like your style and the variety of your work. Especially since my Bodyart Project is very much influenced by stuff like yours. Powerarmor and future active suits are my favourite pet peeve.
Sumimasen, "sharpen passes"? What do you mean by that? I must admit I have trouble understanding excactly what you mean. Could you explain it a little bit different, please?
Oh and here´s the Cover of Snarfquest. I "thougth" there might be a connection even though yours don´t have such long snouts and different ears. Still.
Okay, again for some art. Here I teid to come up with an Illustration for, guess what, a Flyer again. This time for a party I pose as a DJ at. MY other big time bandit. Swing and Swing dancing. But this is the new, fast, energetic and totally badass new/neo/retro swing.
Anyway here are my sketches for it. Starting with a warm up page.
Then I went into the thing
wanted to do some powerarmor 2day. The glowing spear was an idea I had when I started coloring, which I didn´t plan to do at ALL. I jest wanted a quick sketch. So due to that, the shadows of the armor are not totally correct to the light the spear is emmiting. Better luck next time.

Hiya, thought I'd repay the compliment by visiting your sketchbook.
Loooooaaaads of doodles here!! You use some vibrant colours as well.
Some funky little characters.
hey man thanks for dropping by my sketch book.
Wow! I really dig your huuuuugggeee mech model. How long did that take to build? Yeah your last three enviro paintings are really nice. The colours in the last one are really cool. Ye from your previous enviro work, you seemed to use alot of line work. So i suggest the next time you use line art in your enviro work try and use line weight as a means of generating perspective.
I found time to get through about 1/2 your book today. I always admire you people who can make nice confident lines. I can see that you address the areas where you need work and I know that if you continue to practice at those things, and continue to try out new ways to color and to do values the improvement will be overwhelming. The hard part, creativity itself, you already have.
RandAlThor Thanks for the drop in. You are quiet correct with the style analyses. Thou I try to steer away from my linework from time to time. I am pretty confident with my inking abilities. In fact I think i could be contend with inking other ppl pencils. Mebbe Iīll give it a try soon.
Chermilla Hya back. Nice to see a reply from you. Thanks. Yes, lotza doodles. I hope Iīll manage to do some lotza paintings too :bashfull: Iīll take care. See ya īround.
AK86 A positive remark about my enviros. Thanks man. Comming from you it does mean a thing or two. Iīll definetly heed your advice. It made perfect sense once I read it. Iīll give it a try and post it.
The big mech? Yeeeeaaah. I like it too. It was called the king mantide and took from the first sketch to shipping about 9 months. Lotza adjustments and changes and fights and stuff. So much fun.
arttorney Aw, shucks man. You are very observant. Thanks for the compliment. I do try to work on stuff that I need to improve. But I could never do such crazy sculptures like you. I am anxious to see your cactus piece with feet finished.
Okay guys. Small update. Little anatomy and tattoo sketches plus an digi paint of a jolly roger. kinda sucks. the technique is sound but the skull itself seems wrong. The crossbones certainly are. But why?
just a little something. First is kindoffa warm up and second a char from "Girls with Slingshots" (webcomic - what else?)
hey man, thanks for stoppin' by regularly
nice updates man, nice design on that power armor. You should try and improve line qualiy, makin lines a little bit less "scratchy", but that has already improved a lot since beginning of the thread...keep sharing man
Thanks for comming by yourself. Glad you like the Armor. I still see me a long way comming til I can do armors I really like.
I know about the sratchiness. I look in envy at your sketch lines. So I tried to sit down and do A GOOD LINE SKETCH CHARACTER. Yes. Not only a scratchy halfscribble. And look where it got me. Still scratchy lines. But I managed to smash some paint onto it.
just a little drop in tīday. First is a little fun sketch. The rest is dumped from work. Nothing special but it is work.
These two are a bit older but still a concept toss araound frequently. Still this is the best pic to date of the two. Since I am trying to kick off the Gotec Mafia Party I decided to revamp in the image and improve it.
The first one is the last stage from about a year back.
This is the filtered and color altered version I did for the quick launch. A bit simplified and pink because thatīs the color of the party. For a MAfia Party. Go figure.
Then I got the idea of trying out something new for me. Smudging the colors.
I think it is comming along nicely. The change from blond to bitch was a full success and the right thing to so IMHO. I want to develope this piece to something really worthwhile so EVERY piece of help and advice is highly appreciated. Thanks.
Hereīs the rest of todays progress
help me improve this pic please
next little tweakings
ok, now fer the sake of getting away from the mafia fer a short time, here´s what I did as preperations for the WorldBodypainting Festival this year. Unfortunatly I couldn´t attend. There´s been a death in the "family".
So here are the first sketches and the first test painting. The theme was "In the jungle". I had no idea except that I wanted her to wear some kinda tribal mask only to reveal a kind of death face. Sort offa voodoo make up.
Then I had a sort of revelation. I somehow knew how to get the painting into the theme. To get the jungle into the painting. Also I tried something new with the eyes. I will make the mask and do the painting again in the whole set up. So these two paintings mark a creative progress I never tried untill now. Usually I just do a pinting once. This time we ended up developing one thru repeating it and improving it.
Tell me what you think, please.
Hey nice to see you have been busy. Good work on the set sketches. The direction of yout tribal designs is very interesting. It might be far more productive if you digitally roughed out a silouette of a figure then create a new layer and experiment with custom brushes on top of the silouette, to acheive multiple designs at a far faster rate. This technquie some what functions like assembling a collage.
Good Luck and keep it up!
Hoi folks. Thanks for dropping in again. But I kinda got the impression you fail to realize that those black pic are photografs of the actual bodypainting aka a naked girl wearing nothing but paint.
Iīll be looking for this painted shaman now, RandAlThor.
And AK, I gotta tell you that for me, it is not very practical to do 2D sketches. For bodypaintings. The technique you described may aid me in the general search for a motive, but as I learned the hard way, no sketch can be really transfered onto a real body. So I decided to go for a real creative challenge and just make it up as I go. Which I kinda prefer. But you got me an idea. Letīs see what will come from this.
Okay hereīs some stuff I tried with going entirely digital again. Some SciFi set up. Pulp Comics style. For my Spaceranger Fan Art again. I suck at HighTech.
Yeah I was refering to the design sketches. I prefer one without the paint
Cool 'space shippyness pop artness'. Cool idea but the ships shapes seem a bit skewed. Think how the basic shapes work with the perspective.
Keep sharing dude.
yeah thats right i should open a sb too, maybe ill start today...
watch out alter junge
machs gut, naz
check yourself before you wreck yourself...
okay, before another year passes on I am back to participating.
Hereīs some more recent stuff. Iīll fill the SB with sketches from the last year in a bit. Please feel free to crit and comment as allways.
This was a piece from work. The fist pic shows the photograf I was given to work on. The second is the same photograph with everything below the horizon line is digitally recreated. And then painted over.
Nest one was for the same occasion. Worked over a photo.
And then one older anatomy and light study
And here are the last two DSG I participated in
