This is my first time posting, please help me out if I'm doing something wrong.
A little bit about myself, I am a tattooer out of Tucson, Arizona. In May of 2011 I received my B.F.A in Illustration from Rochester Institute of Technology. After graduation, I decided to pursue tattooing as my new career. I started my apprenticeship as a tattooer in July of 2012, and officially started tattooing real skin in December of the same year. I have been tattooing for just over a year now. I work in a small shop, tattooing almost exclusively off of appointments and custom designing over 90% of the pieces. I have been drawing for most of my life. I'm starting to feel that I have hit a wall in improving my technical skills, which is why I joined ConceptArt. I have heard about this site from many artist friends, and I feel that the community here can help me improve and grow. If you see any space for improvement, please do not hesitate to share! It would be the most helpful if you can help me fix my problem areas.
I will start posting some of my tattoos, then I will post some sketches, all from within the last year. I would love to receive feedback. Thanks!
Also, I need to mention I did NOT design the Pikachu tattoo. My client got permission from the original artist, Phil Wall, to get this piece tattooed by me.
I started this tattoo yesterday. The client won my free tattoo session raffle back in December and this is his prize. We did the outline and black in the hannya mask and the swirly waves on his elbow. It's part of his full Japanese sleeve I've been working on for the last 9 months. We will wait about 2 weeks to color the mask.
