mass87 – Thank you. I'm still trying to find my way
Today i want to start new section in this sketchbook. Because i need time to fill new notebooks, i want to share my watercolors with you. It is very difficult technique for me, but i love it.
Please, let me know what you think about it.
Watercolors 2010 Part 1 – Boats
Based on sketches from Sopot.
Watercolors 2010 Part 2 – Sensing my body
Today three paintings i made trying to hear my body. It is great thing, when you can connect with your body and draw / paint what you feel. It is like kind of meditation for me. Very refreshing and inspiring.
In love with your style and process! Have you ever brought any of you inkings into photoshop to color? I think it'd be an interesting combination. Maybe not though. You seem like you'd want to keep it as organic as possible.
I have some dip pens and india ink on their way and after looking through your sketchbook I can't wait to experiment.
Tides – Thank you. This drawings are made as an escape from computer. If you want, take any of sketches here and modify it with PS. It would be great to see, what is your way to do it.
These sketches are made with fountain pens. Dip pens are great, but i can't put them in my pocket. Quills and bamboo pens are great too.
Watercolor 2010 Part 5 – One of my favorites works
I like it very much because of colour, tone, composition, luminosity and simplicity.
It's funny you should say you can't put them in your pocket. They arrived today and was going to bring them along on an outing, but couldn't figure a good way to travel with them. So ended up leaving them. Will have to make a little kit or something.
Tides – They're done to get away from computers but it doesn't mean that it is only and right way. It would be great to see what others see in this works and how they can expand them.
If you want to use ink and pen you should consider fountain pen. If you like thin and even line new pens are great. But if you need flexible line try to find old pen with gold flexible nib.
Watercolor 2010 Part 6 – Through the window
Today watercolor i made looking through the window.
Those abstracts are very much lovely
loving the abstracts! Keep it up!
MY DAILY SKETCHES
If you can read this, I gave you 5 stars
Hey there. What paper do you work on? Also, have you tried layered washes? Getting the whole sheet wet and then working into it. I'd give it a shot and see where it goes.
The_Flying_Dutchman – I usually work on Canson Montval and Hahnemuhle Brittania (if remember correctly). I don't like Montval because paints works strange on the surface, but it is cheap paper and i can buy it in 100 pages sketchbooks. It is good paper for pen, brush and ink and when i decide to experiment with different mediums. Hahnemuhle is great imho. Colors run great and smooth.
I sometimes use layered washes, but i'm impatient so i don't like this technique. Maybe later, when i'll gain confidence in this technique. Second painting today is layered, but i think it is static.
Watercolor 2011 Part 15 – Two works
One from memory and one from nature.
Very interesting stuff! Looks like you are well on your way of developing your own style!
Conniekat8 – Thank you. I'm trying to find my style. I think it is strong connected with sketchy approach and using senses in work process.
Aresa – Thanks. This color combinations are very spontanous and i don't have to much control . But i'm fighting.
Watercolor 2011 Part 16 – A piece of cloth
Today color study. It was rather free approach to model.
Watercolor 2011 Part 17 – Shopping watercolors
Today two paintings i did from my sketches made in location.
Colors are added spontanously and tonal composition also changes.
Paper is Canson Montval. I don'l like how paints are drying on surface, but it is cheap and i use it without worrying about effect.
I came back. Yep, still a fan
