Here are some samples from my on-going project where jewelry transforms into dangerous weapons. The first two images were exhibited last year in New Zealand at the steampunk "Tomorrow as it Used to Be" exhibition in Oamaru. The other two are just jewelry concepts. More dangerous jewelry to come! Please let me know what you think. Thank you!
Everything is mechanical. Pulling the trigger opens the ring up and moves the firing pin in position. Push more, and the pin is released and the gun fires. Releasing the trigger closes the ring while rotating the barrel making it ready for the next shot. I did research before working on this concept - here's a link to one of the real working rings that were my inspiration: http://www.ebaumsworld.com/pictures/view/122332/
thanks for the link. it makes us understand how the jewelry works
They are ok but you know, if you have to explain with words how the thing is supposed to work then you could have done it better. The whole thing about concept art is to transmit to the viewers the "concept", if your work is not doing it you should work a little more on that aspect.
I think you're almost there but not exactly where you need to be to do a great work
Nicely done. Loving the fleshed out concepts
very well rendered!
the second one could use some work though...beacuse its a profile veiw, I cant really get a feeling for what it would look like in 3d. I'm also confused as to how it would function as either jewelry or a weapon. I would recomend designing in ¾ and only making a profile drawing if it would help clarify the form.
