I'm getting my Regent's degree from a small university (done this spring, but won't receive the degree until summer). I'm interested in spending a year or two building my portfolio and experience for now, and I want to go into illustration / concept art (thinking of attending TAD within a year or two).
I'm wanting to do an internship in Southern California (thinking Burbank, San Francisco, LA, etc.) but I have no idea where to look for things like that or how best to go about applying and increasing my chances of getting into them. My college really doesn't have any information on it since it's in the middle of the hills in West Virginia, so any help and information would be very valuable. My dream internship would probably be with Disney (Imagineering, etc.)
Also, I would plan on going to SoCal with my girlfriend, who just got her Math degree and is going into engineering. She wants to intern in an engineering field and also do Imagineering, but I'm sure Imagineering is incredibly competitive and it may be too late to get one of those, but I don't really know.
