Been a slow couple of days, heres small update on study stuff. One day i'll start uploading imagination stuff when i can draw and paint beter. Plus my creativity and imagination stuff is stale and boring.
Anatomy, loomis fail
colour light brushwork study
On the croc and frog studies on the last page, I really like the brushed surface details, as well as the loose and confident brushing on this study. About textures, try to use them as an asset to make interesting parts stand out rather than as an essential thing to put everywhere you'd think there's texture. When you have the same amount everywhere it makes the picture look flat. Another thing you could play with is soft edges - your paintings always have very crisp outlines, like if the subjects were cut and pasted on the background. You easily get that look if you keep the topic on its own layer because it's too easy to keep the edges clean. Painting everything on a single layer could help get a natural, painterly look on the edges. On furry animals especially, I think some loose strokes with a big chalk brush left as such could form a nice contrast to the more tightly rendered areas.
Just some small stuff to think about but keep up the great work, I really like the fluid pencil strokes on the studies too!
Your portrait studies are excellent. That's the only meaningful comment I can give, sorry.

mariea Thanks! When i started studying bout a year ago i did a ton of 30 sec poses from here - http://www.posemaniacs.com/ Your not the first to mention the stiff and wonky pencils lol, it's something i'll focus harder on improving. Thanks again.
My crappy job has destroyed my time past few days, so just a quick study from here - http://www.portrait-photos.org/, trying to focus on hard and soft edges. No sure if i did it right lol.
Trying to looses up my pencils, this is not all of it, the other stuff sucks even harder than this stuff.
Some random dude study
portrait from imagination (hair fail =S)
Sorry i can't show more, i'm spending longer on stuff than usual and getting slower. I'll get my shit together some time soon.
Still having trouble doing imagination stuff effectively too. I start something, render it slightly then just go 'wow this sucks', loose inspiration and motivation and move on. I'll try and get beter.
looking great dude! loving the face studies you have here
