tonights drawings..working on faces!! cause they really suck, and still suck..just a little less
some studies..the side profile, and the mouth and nose one are from life (20-30 mins)
and a really shitty apple (20-30?)..im ashamed to even post it..i'm not quite sure how to go about making my digitals better, suppose i need to spend more time, but i'm gonna do some still lifes, working on a banana right now
dont know how to go about picking colors, and what brushes would work best..i need to experiment more too i guess?
im gonna try to break out of my comfort zone in the next few posts as well, as i seem to be falling into it quite quickly..

I have one big crit for you concerning your digital painting. This is becuase you seem frustrated with your digi-still life's and you kindly wrote in my sb.
I think that you should stay away from any brushes other than the 90 opacity round - the standard hard round PS brush. This is actually brilliant for many types of painting, particularly in the early stages. I would suggest giving it a try. I'll do one myself tomorrow or today and post it, so you see what I mean.
this is looking fresh man
hows it going?
top advice from thomas there btw, 90%opac round seems to be like porsche911, or helvetica, of brushes; unflashy, ubiquitous, excellent
or some shit

You have incredible imagination.
I have watched all pages and your hard work is impressive.
There is one thing i would like to see in your drawings – more definite line. For example, your gesture drawings are made of short rigid lines. Try to make it longer, unquestionable and if you miss something it's ok. Try to do the same with outline line.
Don't get me wrong, i think your work is great and i know how difficult is to change habits.
I'll be watching you
@Grzessnik - thank you, i'm glad there's more people out there that like what i'm doing, appreciate the support! oh, your site was loading particularly slow for me..maybe it was my connection though? shrug.
week of hell is over, got sick, met a new girl but i made it out alive
so i suck - i need to get out of my comfort zone!! ahhh
it's time to get back to work!
more of the same. just between studying doodles, hogarth studies, and some quick heads from psyche lecture
i know the eye lines on some of them are off, and even though i'm still bad with them, they're intentional
too many posemaniacs to post, so i'll gradually do them over this weekend.

Hey Dope, great to see so many studies and really filling the pages with whatever you can or comes to your mind! Comfort-zones are tricky, I was totally in one for a while there just doing studies from books and not really applying them. From what I've heard a good mix of half life drawing, some referenced stuff and half imaginative drawing is a great balance to improve.
You seem to be totally on the right track to improvement, especially with the live figure drawing. I personally find drawing from life much easier than photo-reference.
Your rendering is really taking off too, looking great!
One tip may be to try to render with the shape of the form (in the direction of the perceived plane), this is something I'm trying to incorporate and it makes you think about the surface of what your shading, it sort of lets your mind go over the form and seems to be an extra way to pickup forms and gain a sense of volume. At times it might be not the most visually pleasing way to render, but for just studies, it seems to be a great method.
Keep it up!

@Krystar - thanks dude, imma try to do that for my next few drawings, maybe go study some other people on here doing that, i appreciate the long time support
@Pierce9 - thanks, my next update should be better
some moths. shrug. not too happy with these, oh well. i think i like the first one the most.
@NickyBeats - thanks dude, happy to see you around these parts
some doodles, no ref - although i probably should have ...and some poses, no ref..just trying to find my lines - it was a lot of fun, they'll get much better!
started to get a little more confident. trying to work on getting a smooth line..still difficult for me, but i think i've got propotions, etc..down a little better
i really need to spend some time with my painting, but i'm off to work on the other big projects
Alright, so I gotta get some coursework done + those other projects, but here are my studies for the day
facial study, simply structure.
trying to hop back on that digital horse. going back to the basics, i know they suck, but i'll get there, went for mileage here, trying to pick my own colors based on the photo study. shrug. i actually had fun.
+ some block-ins
and a slightly higher quality photo of the illustration from a while back - desperately need to get a good camera
need to experiment with strokes, etc.. LOT to learn

hey dope!! thanks for stopping by the sketchbook. looks like you have a ton of things going on and tackling all the right studies when i saw the moth pics i got really creeped out... i don't like moths haha (well at least in my house, if i encounter them outdoors that's fine).
anyway, keep working hard! the improvements are showing
@teapo - thanks!!
@LtPlissken - hey buddy!
don't have much time, it's been a while since i posted, but i've never been busier, and i have a lot of big projects coming to an end, so expect better updates, these are some studies, shitty as hell life drawings, and other random stuff going on in-between the bigger stuff..and some more photos
c4d studies - working on an animation
i went to an open life drawing session - trying to go to these every friday..i need to improve..and do more studies..
did about 200 posemaniacs ranging from 30-90 seconds..but i wont post those.
PHOTOS.. (not too happy with these either, but i'll post em anyway...maybe you guys'll have some comments)
PART 2 - i'm still working on my proportions, and my values blow..i'm not sure how to go about them with vine charcoal...and some cinema 4d studies.
I need summer to come...too many things to work on..my focus is spread thin, and i feel like everything is suffering..quality atleast
@Lt - oh indeed.
This page is getting pretty image heavy. post for page 7!
progress of 1/3 new drawing i'm working on - part of a little series...gearing school work towards something useful
a 5 min sketch from like a yr or 2 ago - friend really liked it, gave it to him, but photoed it real quick. figured id show you guys
and some more photos from today
That is a good sign, cause it means that you are working realThis page is getting pretty image heavy.
hard. Your pencils are becoming outstanding. Very good work.
@LtPlissken - haha thanks hope you'll continue to stop by
well i'm moving, so i've been a little busy with all that business, and i've turned in quite a few things, but here's some of the work i could actually photograph
15 mins on the figures + more c4d
been painting with acrylics, attempting to understand color a little bit more, i'll post some of those eventually, they'd be a little boring atm, and im still doin those anatomy studies..ill post those eventually when i have time
and how the hell do you post youtube videos?? i did the [yt] tag, and closed it..doesn't seem to wanna work for me..
