Nice painting. Throw some real white in there so you can see what some light lights can do. You may not have to use white but it looks like you need to get over the hump of light lights.
The pile of bodies is going to b harder. They need some lighter lights too, and some more clarity. I think you're going to have to just bite the bullet and really render out some clear body parts. Its just not reading yet.
Yeah, I think you need to pop in some light lights into some key places. And maybe have some body parts sticking out of the mound directly in front of the light source. Almost like silhouettes. That would help the viewer recognize what that is cuz it kinda looks like a giant brain to me at the moment. Great cover art so far though
I'd recommend calibrating your monitor and/or checking your PS color settings, it's reeeeeeally dark. If all of those are fine, play around with levels, curves, or shadow/highlight to bring out the midtones a bit.

I like it.
The corpse pile looks like a giant slug. Couldn't tell it was bodies.
You might want to hit some highlights on the skull face.
The wing on the right of the picture looks like a big rock. It doesn't read as flat. And neither wing has any suggestion of feathers, assuming that's what you are going for.
At least Icarus tried!
