Izi is an occult artist who has been studying art as a calling since 1995. After graduating highschool she already had several shows under her belt and has been involved in the arts ever since then. She studied at The Contemporary Realist Academy, an atelier in the European Academic Tradition under Kathryn Manzo. She became involved with The Abrahadabra Institute in 2002 after visiting abrahadabra.com where m1thr0s had his work on display. After moving to Olympia in Washington State where m1thr0s was residing, she began studying Mutational Alchemy exclusively in lieu of Hermeticism and Tantra.

Weee, Naomi is back again
23 cards to go and then the publishing madness, so allllmooosst. It's hard to keep it all secret! D:
I'm curious if you store your traditional media stuff's on the internet somewhere?
I thought that I'll tell some of my thought's bout the King of Swords, his face seems slightly deformed, a bit flattened, main thing that confuses me as a wiever is that it you kinda want to play with that face like with a sculpture mass and add more depth to the eyesockets, pull the nose closer to me When I look at his necklace, it looks so damn cool rendered, I can almost touch it, dont be so afraid to try such more contrasting values, forms on the face aswell!
Thanks for mentioning it. I did work five hours on him since the last post and fixed the nose, but also framed the face and chin better to make it more defined, as suggested. You are so right about the eyesockets, and he looks so much better now.
As for the traditional art, I have it on hand, and you're welcome to it.
These all fit the following criteria of traditional art: Painted or drawn from life in an academic tradition (with the exception of the Amur leopards done from a photo exclusively) and not edited with digital imaging software.

Wow, it really seems that you put much more soul when you work with trad media, aswell it's more subtile than the digis, not sure what zhongqiu jie is, but that still life looks really amazing, the contrast and softness is nicely combined I gotta say
Watch out over the ribcage of venus, seems quite missing some mass, body seems a bit squeezed in the belly area and the neck quite doesnt fit in the body, too long imo.
Few cents from me, hope it helps somehow
Not sure what you mean since I havn't posted any of my finished digital works for almost two years. It does help knowing if I go back to oil and charcoal I may have something marketable as I have another show planned now that I am recovering from the divorce.
Once I finish the deck I will post a bunch of the images here and then you can decide if they're any good.
Oil and charcoal are my favorite traditional media, ,because the value gamut is so broad - charcoal is said to have the closest ability to mimic lifelike value.
zhongqiu jie is a persimmon, a mooncake box and a jade horse.
Just a graphic/text project I'm starting. I would like to be able to post more so I needed another project besides the Mutational Alchemy tarot.

I dont know if I agree with naming all your layer folders. Whats wrong with "Layer 65 copy copy copy 2 copy"? I just think screw you future me you figure it out.
Banana and tea is really nice.

well it's a template used for 78 cards. 4 elements, 64 hexagrams, 16 geomantic characters, 12 astrological attributes, 32 *pentagrams, various layered elements for use on the fonts for the different suites, court cards, majors, minors...It would be a night mare to sort that out without labels. As you can see, the painting process itself goes unlabelled until it gets a little more intricate as I play with various backgrounds and such. Thanks for the compliment.

Everything is better with dinosaurs.

playin around with some old stuff. reading up on zbrush.
Candles are so romantic. Lawl.
Nice book, I'll leave you to it.
Naomi, I see you are very interested in ancient Southwest Asia. Although I'm more into Egypt, I've done a little reading of Mesopotamia and even have Samuel Kramer's The Sumerians. I feel inspired to draw something Mesopotamian-related now.
Everything is better with dinosaurs.
Yes I actually was a huge fan of Egypt, but my most beloved friends at Enenuru, after some Sumerian brainwashing, inducted me into their cult ;P
You might take a peak at the link in my signature, it is the best place to find art references for Mesopotamia. (also known as Ancient Near East studies btw)
As a matter of fact I just registered on that Enenuru forum. And nice fiery lion!
Everything is better with dinosaurs.
Saw you there, ahem, just be sure to know that while Bill (us-he-gal) is the founder of the board, and normally very talkative, he is currently engaged in his first year of studies to be a fully recognized scholar of ANE studies. (About time as I have been harassing him about it forever) I'm sure other members will pop in at some point. But it doesn't distill the fact that the board has a wealth of information already.
Anyways welcome to Enenuru
cool 'sexy parlour' :-p
try to draw more, loosen up and be aware of the individual muscles. your figures look a little like blow-up dolls.
Alexander Mcqueen died.
I designed my own wardrobe for spring for an hour this morning. Time for coffee. Based on the Pantone announcement for the 2011 color "Honeysuckle"
"Courageous. Confident. Vital. A brave new color, for a brave new world. Let the bold spirit of Honeysuckle infuse you, lift you and carry you through the year. It’s a color for every day – with nothing “everyday” about it."
Sounds nice, but the color is actually pepto bismol. It does take courage to eat that stuff. Let's see what we can do with it:
I will have witchy snake hats!!!
Really nice work in post #16. really like the mood, the colors you have used. you could have pushed the highlights a bit more and darken the overall scene a wee bit. it would have increased the effect of the candlelights and enhanced the overall contrast of the image. Nevertheless, it looks great to me.
keep up the good work.
Hm, well I don't know how to roast coffee, so I might just have to wait to be 'discovered" by some fabulous coffee company unfortunately. Not sure you can get Mexican Altura organically, either, but it would be nice I would say it's definately a morning after coffee hmmm
Everyone has some good points, try not to make robo people, no blowup dolls, and push the darks.
In other news I just launched my new website, which I am very excited and pleased about since CSS is a little new to me. I had a couple of scares with the script file dissapearing on me, but all is well that ends well:
I let some of the cards be seen there
Hey-there, I can see you knocking out the wind from those windmills.
You are an exquisite person doing all this enhanced enchanted colorful
beautiful art, you opened some new dimensions in the backstage of my
mind. Seeing the monkey in your 11th post in your magical thread, my
feelings went wild and my soul instantly disappeared with the disharmonic
orchestra. That "Trio - One out" is so erotic that the candles started
melting in a different way, opposing to some cosmic forces, I knew it
all along that you are a mythical creature delivered to humankind to improve
our existence. Thank you very much for all this.
I will try to visit your work more often.
Fair words indeed, Lt. I'm blushing...i did NOT deserve that after posting my weird and short comment on your sketchbook "Weird and perverted" which is a compliment and I am glad you took it as such hahaa
I finally filled in my Etsy account with weird, miscellaneous objects today and put Etsy buttons on my website. I started the account I think 2 years ago and did nothing with it, so it's about time. Also scrawled some urinals over at the IDW: Pissoir, great weekly happening right now.
I started beading when I was 16, working under a jeweler in the Seattle area, and still do enjoy it, it's a psychological stress reliever. so I need an outlet for the products I make.
