Not a huge manga-fan myself, but I have to admit some of these are looking real nice. Love that last one. (Saw that you just updating, I meant the one with all the paint splashes
I have one crit for the one where you were struggling with a wheat field though: That pillar is reeeeaaally distracting. If it has little or no significance to the piece, why is it more of a focus point than the character? It's blocking a beautiful view. I would move the character further to the right, and the same for the column. Lastly his foot should probably be fixed before moving on.
@iambanana: Thanks man I really appreciate that.
about the pillar though, I see what you mean but the focus isn't the field either, and I feel like moving it would open up the frame too much and leave the eye wandering, but I'll take a look now that you've mentioned it (admittedly I think part of it might be my fear of landscapes )
But on the foot; I can't see it, would you mind telling me where I messed up? Sorry not saying your wrong I just have trouble seeing my own mistakes until after I finnish working on it.
thanks again mate
n'other update for the cover I'm doing, I'm planning on having a saturated purple behind the piece with cuts and scratches into the top layers exposing the brighter layer so it looks damaged... I don't know the proper word for what I'm using but it's like stamps I guess
I'm starting up my comic again and so I decided to put some extra time into the chapter's cover and man screening is time consuming, I don't know how I forgot but I did. Oh well I'm pretty happy with how it looks. I'd love a crit tho ^^
nice updates man! staying consistent is one of the hardest things to achieve. it is by far my greatest weakness. but i have seen other artists (mainly comic) create sheets with like 20 different facial expressions for the same character. then keep it as a reference for later down the line. could be a good excercise.
@Nicky: Hey thanks man, I'm actually doing an emotions chart atm but it's in full color so it's taking forever, I might just do a B&W version so that I can actually get it done lol
It's good to know I'm not the only one who struggles with this thanks man
I did this as fanService for my comic and it seems most of my followers are female or just into dudes for some reason. Was kinda hoping it was the other way around since this was kinda awkward to draw, not because it's a guy but I have never done male anatomy that I wasn't go to cover up later and the anatomy was the main purpose more or less.
I've colored it a bit but it's really rough and just distracting
Ignoring the face it's more realistic than I tend to do so maybe I can get some feed back on here XD
usually people are too busy to give them, but yeah if you have the time that would be awesome thanks mate
@Nicky: Hey thanks man, I think a big part of it is that I'm working allot bigger now so I can scale down the image to where the lines look less "hatchy", maybe I'm getting better too though XD
first off, yours looks great. just so you know; it's just a piant over showing flaws in bone structure. and my dabbling isnt very pretty on your delicate work; still, I think it shows the errors.
@Ashess: XD Yeah I know about The tall guy's head, he's not human (if you look at some of my other stuff its a bit easier to see but his shoulders are extra broad and his neck is kinda... I dunno it moves how I need it but he's not something I can fix really ^^;
As for the others I actually fixed most of that stuff today lol I'll post it a little later, I think its still kinda off but it's better than it was at least. I will have to look at the women though, her frame is really bothering me.
And (I know I sound like Im just making excuses here but this is something I actually do) I draw my anime kids a little oddly since if you draw them accurately they look really awkward, there head looks like an adult's, they look too skinny, ... and other things. I should probably figure out a way to do it so that it's such a noticeable problem, but it's really frustrating to tinker with
Oh and another thing on the women, I think she might be contraposed (but the opposite way you have it, which makes it hard for her arm to go through her breast...) Her right arm should probably be more obviously foreshortened too

looking good! just watch the lenght of the legs in relation to the arms; esp on the kids. children have shorter legs and arms, but the relationship between them remains mostly the same.
This is Marcus and Estriel. Estriel is the one holding Marcus. Estriel is Marcus' guardian and Marcus is the youngest person to be a "kept", so he's supposed to be a bit traumatized.
This scene is in an old cathedral which is most of the planet's design.
Alright, updating again
@ashess: Thanks mate, I changed his arms but just slightly. Dunno if it helped at all though
@Kweckduck: Actually, aside from the kids and a few others, most of these are referenced. I should do more referenced stuff though
