update on the tribal woman thing, this has to be the most time ive ever spent on anything digital (4ish hours) and i really enjoyed it .
I dont even want to post some of the shitty face practises i did a week ago... ill make a few new ones !
criticism would be really nice
2ND PAGE! yay!!
this is rate good man, great improvement!
i wouldn't worry about how much time you take on a piece, dont expect to be able to bust out a really good looking image strait away.
i suffer from this also, but dont worry about it and enjoy yourself
To hell with circumstances; I create opportunities.
bought my first issue of imagine fx, its good stuff really useful, decided to experiment a little with some of the new things i learnt
Dude that is soo sexy if she was real i would not be able to look away from those eyes xDD haha damn awsome work man your progressing loads and i love that your starting to add little details and textures siiick cant wait to see more

definate WIP before bed, gonna work on it alot more tomorrow!
hey there friend. thought id give u a nice tutorial guy to watch. maybe youve heard of him or maybe no. name is feng zhu. can look him up on youtube. hes got his own school and you can definitely learn alot about digital painting from his tutorials on youtube. cheers mate
my subconscious does not stop begging my conscious to draw.
hmm does that mean im a slave to my subconscious?
at least it doesnt beg for crack. ha.
hm this might sound a bit harsh but i think you should take a step back from all the fancy brushes and colours and have a look at construction.
with your faces in particular you seem to just draw some features and hope they fit together. but if you look at art instruction books like loomis for example, you'll see they construct their heads out of primitives in perspective. everything is built on a solid 3-dimensional framework, and that's the reason they look right.
sry if that sounds harsh, don't mean to offend you - but I think you're carrying a lot of bad habits into your digital paintings that are only going to get worse if you don't focus on your foundations
Hey! Good work so far, I do have to agree with NeonDuck though, a bit of anatomy studying will definitely do good things for your digitals. Besides that, keep up the good work and keep having fun!

Didnt get any sleep at all last night, stayed up watching workshops and finishing that WIP, i also had a long hard think about my future progress and i realised that i've never been this dedicated to accomplishing something before and im willing to put in 100 percent to get to where i need to be. Those last set of comments hit me hard, was kinda like a wake-up call and i really appreciate the honesty.
mrd33s- i checked a few of his videos out yesterday, inspiring stuff, thanks man!
neonduck- you cannot not believe how much i appreciate this comment, im gonna hit up town today and pick up a few anatomy books, i'll lay off the funky brushes/colours and do alot of studying . i really do appreciate your honesty thanks a bunch man!
jneuman- thank you , im gonna study like mad :-P

nice stuff . i like the texture in the 2nd page first post .
i see you are tryin complex poses. its good but i suggest you learn the muscle anatomy first.it will help you alot. i ve been trying to study it. now that i am learning the flow its becoming more easy.if you know how the flow of muscle goes, then you ll be able understand how it bends and how the shape changes. so yup
you are doing good stuff already XD.. just do lots more . i ll be back
sense of purpose
sin eater- yeah, anatomy is definately my top priority at the moment so im just gonna keep hitting the books (literally?)
thanks man, really appreciate the support
busy day, so heres a quick update!
anatomy doodle, real studies to come tomorrow when im free all day also my scanner is fixed so ill hand draw em instead

Anatomy is obnoxious isn't it? Don't get discouraged, learning is hard! Applying that knowledge is even harder. Understand that failure is the key to learning. Repeat that to yourself constantly, and you'll progress faster.
I think you're having trouble seeing the way forms exist in space. I have the same problem.
I suggest stepping away from anatomy entirely and working on some still lifes until you understand form. Don't try to tackle such a big problem! Baby steps, until you can sprint.
You can do it!
kiwigarbage- Thanks so much for your help, theres alot to learn and to be honest i dont know where to start lol, guess im gonna have to juggle it all around a little
Your work is really nice and as is your advice, i'll make sure to cram in as much still life as i can :p
thanks for the morale boost
hopfully ill be sprinting soon!
20 min doodle after work, now its sleep time

hey envodas, whats up man nice start to ur sketchbook. i think with the faces the length of the nose seems a little long, try to loosen up a little and experiment with expressions. keep it up man happy new year too
jesus food- yea ive been told that alot lately lol, its something that ill definately add to my studies , btw your sketchbook is lovely, really good source of motivation
many thanks! and have a happy new year
didnt have as much time as i would have liked to have today but heres what i managed to conjour up, quick photograph study before bed
HAHA happy chinese new year to you to home bro
some anatomy studies done without reference i wanted to find out what all my weakspots are so i used my imagination for these
Ill do a few more that ill use a reference for tomorrow maybe later if i finish work on time
further studies from reference this time, more to come !
another shitty portrait before bed, ill try and change the angle of the face in my next portrait, got a feeling the nose is gonna prove even more challenging at a different angle also i'll be experimenting with different expressions tomorrow
anyway, g'nite -_-
