You've got some solid rendering skill. Love it.
Your shading is amazing. I love your hand in post number 12. do you draw from photographs ever ? or real life mostly ?
I am astonished at your portraits. You should try painting a version of one of them... I'd love to see that.
flex mathews - Thanks. Yes, I was at the comic-con. Did I meet you? Just checked out your sketchbook and your work is great. Let me know.
camilografix - Thanks.
tokidokizenzen - Thank you. Glad you enjoy it.
Alisa - I find it a very irritating labor to work from photos. I can do it if I'm commissioned, but I try to stengthen the forms of the drawing by adding information and pushing it far beyond just a copy. Working from life or out of my head is a far more pleasing experience...that's all you'll find in this thread. Thanks.
bengonzalez - Thank you.
Here's another like the previous.

Wow, this is one hot sketchbook. Great pencils - something very much to aspire to. No crits, but have you got any stuff in other media ? or creature stuff ?? I espcially like the boars with the samurai girl.

you are amazing.

Ted you made a huge progress since I met you the last time. Not sure if you remember but it was in Amsterdam a year ago in an Italian restaurant, where we went as group with some peeps like Robolus for example. Anyways, it was really nice to go through your sketchbook and look at your drawings. Keep up the good work!
Great head studies
codakromek - Thanks. Check out the links in my signature for more work...this is really all I can show...the majority of my work is protected by non-disclosure contracts or is sitting on the hard drives of studios.
Pierre - So great to get a response from you. I had a great time in Amsterdam among all my travels...my lady is Dutch so I need to use that as an excuse to go back. Thanks for the encouragement. I'll check out your posts.
mentler - Thank you.

daqu - Thanks for the post. I'm glad these drawings can be an inspiration and I can contribute. This is such a late reply, hope you check back.
Here is an old page of sketches I just scanned to send to a friend (the one with the mustach) I drew in Rome. Figured I'd post it as well.

I really adore the statue of Mr. Guidi, the depth is amazing, it really seems to pop off the page. Back a few pages- I love the piggies you drew. I know it's been said a few times in this thread, but this is some super-inspiring art. I wish I had something more constructive to say. Fantastic work, and thank you for sharing it with us.
Beautiful sketches ted, top notch man.
I like you're hand writing, like on the siamese triplets at the top of the page. Where'd you learn that?, looks very constitution. Tip: pay more attention to the contours of the bones and muscles around the wrist, the straight lines are hurting otherswise great drawings.
Looked some more: Pay closer attention to the entire contours of the body, particularly in the arms.

"Beliefs are rules for action"
"Knowledge is proven in action."
"It's use is it's meaning."
hell yeah. these are really good. the thing you should try is putting a few empty sheets of paper under the page you're gonna scan so that the sketches under won't be visible. it can really improve the quality of the sketches.. anyways keep it up!

Mother of God!!
Awesome sketchbook, Ted, just plain awesome. I love the shadings and values in every picture, the poses are authentic and expressions really striking. You got some real potential, I tell you, which you should know yourself .
These pictures truly make me inspired to draw even more!
Great work, can't really give any kind of crits, for I just can't see anything that much of a wrong here =) .
I've been lounging for an update for ever. Awesome stuff.
What you've been up to in Rome? (Vatican museum's such a treasure trunk...)
I have to say, I like your art. It's pretty cool. and your website is pretty cool as well.
You have the kind of pencil work that i am aspiring to get too...I am still at the point where my lines are just very eratic and gestural which isn't a bad thing I suppose, i just got to master it.
Good stuff man.
i love it all. thank you.
SKETCHBOOK UNDER CONSTRUCTION (need a scanner, roar )
Always Solid works here Ted
