To round of my studies of vermeers' girl with the pearl I did a digital speedpaint version of her too.
Here it is after 2 hours, fully eyeballed (no grid/tracing! yay!). I used triangulation and soft brushes for the first time which was a very pleasant experience
Learnt so much about colours.
SOB, don't leave me behinddd!
You're just getting moar awesome by the day! Shouldn't you be working on your game? :p
The highlight on her nose makes her look a little plastic imho.
Hehe, thanks Our game was right about finished last friday-ish, but I still have my teams thursday meeting to do the finishing touches.
And don't worry I wont leave you behind! Hehe. Keep in mind you're triply awesome in other things, so we can learn from each other
Triangulation is sort of difficult to explain without showing it (its not very hard to grasp though), I was gonna show you now in 3D class but you decided to not show up! :p Maybe ask me tomorrow
In any case I uploaded the recording I did of that digital:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FpOq4uiqzeE (you can see some of the triangulation in there)
BTW I wonder why no one ever replies here but us Do want more feedback!
We're not good enough, silly
Don't forget to upload your integration, I'm curious
Because I'm a broke bum and I cant afford real christmas presents...
My sister and her husband
(disclaimer: Its not very rich in details because its only about A5 in size, and as usual the scan makes it look 10000x worse)
D< Aaah, why am I doing the portrait thing!?!?!?
I should be doing the 'body-anatomy-perspective'-thing. D:
Long time no paint, been a bit busy with other schoolwork, but I forced myself to do a little still life speedpainting:
Voila se, speciaal voor jou.
NOW GO MAKE ME SUM DONUTS.
I vote III or VIII
IX, it's like... Morgan Freeman.
doodleydoodoo to pass time.
Crazy steampunk grenade shizzle O: Whats the idea behind it, or is it completely random?
I did another life painting - this is what happens when I have to study for a programming exam
Painted it a lot faster, didnt cha?
I like the crazy speculars!
PS. I don't see no rust on those weights :p
Oh and it was like, I wanted to paint wings, but I do that all the time.
So then I wanted some crazy robo-wings and suddenly they turned out to be guns.
I need to start studying muscles more. I looked up some ref but it's hard to make it all look believable
Fantastic use of colour. In some cases the forms look like they should be more clearly defined, but the fundamentals are all strong.

In the following 2 weeks I aint got school so I'll probably kick into overdrive on the free work and practise again, possibly continueing my anatomy adventures.
Here's a speedpaint doodle I forgot to post, again trying many completely new things
Here's a dump of 2D school work from the past exams:
(not too proud of the last 3 though)
that bus piece is very cool.
my portfolio :
Worked some more on landscapes and mattepaintings,
tried to keep the saturation low for a change.
Photocollage - out of my comfort zone...
Post yours too, Highelf!
That bus painting is absolutely AMAZING, the level of detail is enthralling @A@ Your brushwork in it is beautiful and the colors are super well-done as well. I love being able to see the process animation too I'd love to see more paintings like that, haha. Keep up the amazing work!
Continuing experimentation with more subtle, less saturated colors.
Want to work on this some more, this is a snapshot of 1hr.
@Highelf: I love Mr. Croque
Think I actually like the ice-scape the most out of the four, the reflection just make the real REAL.
Hey, you like that, Monsieur-Croque, croque-monsieur? 8DD Herpyderpzzzz
