I am Michelle, 18 years old and from germany.
I've been a lurker on CA for almost 2 years now and finally decided to join here to receive and give crits and share art
Welcome to CA. Needless to say, you already have nice skills.
Your first pic is cool, but it has too many details on the armor, I think you should smooth things up.
The portrait is amazing! It shows you understand values. Now I wish to see how you paint with colors.
Hi, Michelle. That's a nice contrast between those two pieces. The top one looks kind of like the Yuzhan Vong from Star Wars, and it feels razor sharp. The bottom one looks like a photograph, and feels really soft and warm (like she just got out of the sun or something). Can't wait to see more of your work!
Here's my Book of Sketches

@Mister Dark: Thank you! Yes, I think I'm going to clean up the armor, also building some parts up to make the details more understandable
Here a rock practice I did some days ago and some alchemy+photoshop experiments
I personally think that your alchemy stuff needs to be more defined.

@ Monsi: Thank you!
@ FightingSeraph: Thanks for the tipp, I'll work on that!
Here's an environment speedy, photo ref used
Great start to a sketchbook. The last environment and the portrait are tremendous.
If I were really pressured for a crit, it would be to experiment with a variety of different edge treatments, varying them from sharp to soft, depending on your subject matter. Again, only if I were pressured into giving a crit.
Really nice start and great. Keep it up!
@Nickodemus: thank you! I'll work on that
Here's a WIP, not sure how to finish.... NEED crit!
What's up in Germany?
The second work, in your first post
the grayscale female portrait is just
more than awesome.
I have nothing to criticize, cause
this last one is also great on its own way,
maybe you should post more work, more
pencil drawings and more of your digital
work, so one could really generate something
about your progress and to give you some advices.
Keep posting more often, that will force
you to work more and to improve much faster.
Wow, slick work. Keep it up!

Rule #1 of depicting soldiers: KEEP THE DAMN FINGER OFF THE DAMN TRIGGER.
I really liked the light in the environment scene, and the ninja pics had a nice style going on Post more!
@LtPlissken Wow thank you so much! Yea I really try to steadily update the sketchbook, but as I am in my last year of school, final exams are keeping me away from painting/drawing After school I'll be ready to dedicate all my time to art hopefully
@Kauil thank you!!
Just a short update, value study from photo reference, the photo is in color and I tried to get the values right in B/W, I think I'll work on that a little more, maybe add hair too...
Awesome rendering on the faces. Maybe try doing some figure studies too?
Thanks for the feedback everyone
Changed that last one a little, the nose and left eye indeed were off... guess it is better now..
Also here's the link to the original photo: http://vip.condenet.de/images/vip/12/00/9_285x425.jpg
Awesome sketches so far, really liked the first figure in your book.
You asked for a crit on this one...
Maybe paint in some background, keeping it suggestive, I can't see how much more you could do on the skelly, just the background seems lacking to me.
A nice sketchbook begins! I like your value studies, but that enviro speed looks great too. Nothing much to crit from me, you seem to be on a right track. Keep it coming.
My sketchbook Crits and advice highly encouraged!
thank you all you wonderful people
@Holland: Yea, direct photography reference
great start! keep diggin ;D
new stuff, some crit would be supernice
Really going off here. two years no post lol. What happened? nevertheless- nice amount of detailing. Keep it up. Show us some progress work of your portraits, that would be nice!

Good updates! It's hard to make out the horned giant against the white background though. On that and the other paintings, there's plenty of room to go lighter, and I think you could've used black more sparingly. Black surface details on the light side of the frog painting flattens it out a bit. I do like the care you've put on surface details though, the fur and feathers on the two other pieces look great!
Yea, 2 years without posting, I know, I feel quite ashamed haha. Well over the last year I concentrated on drawing... anatomy, training the eye, boring stuff. Didn't feel like posting them here. Also I need to buy a scanner to show some sketches/drawingsss in the future!
@smuli: thx for the crit, most appreciated. Just bought Gurney's Color and Light to work on this
Anyways, now I'm slowly turning back to painting
Heres a study from yesterday
