hehe, no not like that. out of curiosity, I'm interested in knowing what musician or type of music, is pitted with what visual artist. I dont want pictures, it will be easier to sift through w/o them. Just two names- A visual artist, and a musician. Your number 1 favorite of each.
Favourites in Music and Art all depend on your mood. Narrowing it down is not on. With music I can go from classical, jazz, pop to heavy metal in one day, just like in art I can go from Michaelangelo to Mondrian with everything in between. I banned my youngest asked me what my favourite colour, tv program, food was. I cannot contemplate anything more boring than forced to endure favourites forever. Variety is the spice of life.
I'd like to say that Zdzislaw Beksinski is my all time favorite artists but that's really way to difficult to say.
Music is even worse... What instrument? What genre? Composers or only instrumentalists? Etc, etc, etc...
Familiarity breeds contempt.
Like what Black Spot was saying, I can't give you one single answer. There might be a piece of art or a single tune that I can appreciate for a long time, but not forever. My tastes are constantly changing.
Sorry if this answer is somewhat cryptic but to me it's a better answer than saying Hans Zimmer and Norman Rockwell imo.
Mmmmm, a tough one. But Id have to say, I fell in love with Dylan Cole's Matte paintings and his concept sketches- GO DYLAN!!!
As for musician? Garry Schyman. He did the Bioshock 1 and 2 scores, absolutely beautiful. Of course, it was a hard choice between him and Rom Di Prisco and Jesper Kyd's job with UT3's music.
Thomas Kinkade and Nickleback.
Bob Ross O_O
but seriously, its tough. I think the person who has amazed me and kept me drooling, ive been trying to rip him off for ever. Hes the guy who has drivin me nuts. Never seen that kind of thing in digital work.
This is way hard to turn into one or the other, but here goes.
Tom Waits (it was a tough choice between him, Steven Wilson, and Bjork)
Jason Manley (Been a fan for years) and Hendrix
Don't have a favorite artist, because I learn from all my favorite artists.

To me this is a universal principle of art. Saying as much as possible with a minimum of means."-John Huston, Director
