JellevdVegt, I've been lurking around these forums for a good while now, and I want you to know that I really find your work to be inspiring. I've spent a good chunk of last night and today going through your sketchbooks, new and old, and I am so impressed.
Your handling of perspective, especially, is really wonderful. It looks so natural and like you just know exactly where to place every line. You make it look effortless, even though from all that I've seen you have put SO much effort into your work. I guess that's the pay-off.
Anyway, thought I'd let you know.
Thanks for keeping at this and posting so much of your hard work and time for us to see and learn from ourselves.
xiola wow... thats an amazing post. I would have never thought that i would be so inspiring to others. thanks for giving me this great energy!
Justyna thanks! nice that you fance the 'real' design work aswell
in2eternity in fact, im experimenting with flash and i think about doing more with animation in the future.
Well i did another animation. Its just random stuff again, but i didnt go as much into details and rendering as the previous.

Woohoo, the red book updated
Well in my opinion the vid is great, its fun to see your process on this work, your thoughts and interpretations while working, not just the finished work.
DStraX nice that you like it!
a la bapsi thanks for taking the time to reply, i will continue making videos.
Justas thanks for giving your opinion! i really apreciate it.
I did a paintstudy from ref. forgot to make a video
First thing; your designs are cool and your sketchbook contains some fine work. But what I don't get. Your first sketchbook was randomly filled, you hated on concept art and started a new sketchbook to become a better 'designer' and not an illustrator. Then I'm going to your second sb and your first posts are illustrations. Again you start hating the shallow concept art but a few posts after it you start doing concept art for yourself (post #35).
I have to agree with a certain shallowness in some conceptart work but I think by saying all concept art 'these days' is to much. Some of my own concept art is shallow but they were more techninque studies then design studies. I think if your more into design you should just filter some artists instead of yelling conceptart is shallow (in its design). And note that some conceptart is just made to set a mood and not going into any design.
So enough statements, keep it up with your work! It's fun to see.
Oh and good luck with the eow
ps. what is the song in your pirate video?
Cheers/ your friend PMB

Pencil and brush is my choice of weapons!
really nice skull, i'd like to see more of these
really good to see you back mate - was gutted when you quit your last SB so im glad that ill getting some new stuff from you to be inspired by...
love your hardcore industrial design - awesome...
no crits yet, just want to see more!
strybjorn thanks, glad i inspire you!
eeedward Ithanks, i start playing around with hard and soft edges, i think thats what you mean with the lighting effect.
beany911 the skull was just an excersise so i dont know if i will paint that anytime soon i think i will practice some cars soon
here some abstract shit, again trying to focus on edges. Somehow loosing the feel of depth because i dont manage my edge contrasts well enough. also, i didnt build up my value consistently enough. And maybe i should have used more reference too ooh well
Nice sb you got here mate. I saw some good work of yours in IDW gallery. I hope you are aware of this week's IDW: Lightship. Give it a go
Anyways about the last piece nice color use. Try some bounced light effect to add more definition to the edges. Just a thought.
Well keep up the good work mate. Probably want to go through all the pages when i get some time.
LOVE your pen and marker work. I always love the industrial design style.
iCreate thank you
m0uS3r yeah, its not really realistic i know
ryanoir hey, technically i have 3 now but they have to be updated. but i dont do it for the stars, more for the fun^^
Here is a triple A0 poster i made for the final presentation of a school project called 'house of the future'. The concept is a reaction of the individualistic society we are becoming, and the lack of real fysical interaction with people (social networks / chat programs). The design is an appartment building where every appartment can open itself up to a central area and so stimulate fysical interaction with your neighbours.
i love your work, very inspoiring stuff, right up m street! and your thoughtful comments are very interesting
good worlk all round!

I love the concept behind this architecture, I'd actually like to see an apt complex modeled after that, little social experiment haha
aside from that, your digital pieces are looking great, however, i'd like to see some more traditional work, maybe some pencil sketches, paints? you have a great imagination it seems
Dope Fiend thanks. i will try to post more traditional stuff
Velocity Kendall thanks. You are very good. where do you work?
SnobbyOo haha, well, who knows.. maybe it will be build some day!
