I'm relatively new to this forum (few posts),
I've been working with oils for a long time, below are some pieces I've done
I have done mostly landscapes, but on occasion I'll get a commission for a portrait or some wildlife
I have found that I like working with digital media also, I've enrolled in an animatin program and I'm studying texture painting, concept drawing and the rest of it
If you see a post I've done please give it a crit or something.
I'm here to learn - hard and fast
If anyone has questions for me I would be more than happy to respond - I'm very approachable
You have a really inspiring style. I particularly like the palette knife work and impasto in the skies.
Have a good day.
I'm glad you like them
I haven't yet figured out how to include my website etc. in posts but you can see more at www.mediastain.com
I'd also like to know how to place a bit of space between each image?
I'll continue to post - thanks again
i likes all work you have good knowledge about color merging so best of luck dud tell me how to use i want to learn from you
I checked some of your sculpture work - nice stuff
I'm going to call on you for some zbrush advice when the time comes, learning maya at the moment
- I'd be happy to give some info you may know some of this but I don't know, may also be useful for others
I use the principals of colour theory in my paintings
(google colour wheel)
hots (red, yellow,orange) coming forward
cool (blue, green, purple) going back, little detail/texture in the shadows
the cools are my shadows
colours desaturate as the recede (atmosphere)
Red Yellow Blue - being the primaries - all colours can be made from these
I use white also, no Black - black straight from the tube is a killer
my palette is glass, white paper underneath - no colour interference
I work wet into wet so that needs to be considered hen mixing
brushes and palette knives used - use your fingers, just make the mark you need
that's a quick overview
is there something specifically you want to know?
