Can't wait for that link, I'm geeking out fanboy style over here.
Wow! Very, very cool. Thanks, Jason, CA, and TAD for putting this on!
"Contrary to the belief of the layman, the essential of art is not to imitate nature, but under the guise of imitation to stir up excitement with pure plastic elements: measurements, directions, ornaments, lights, values, colors, substances, divided and organized according to the injunctions of natural laws. While so occupied, the artist never ceases to be subservient to nature, but instead of imitating the incidents in a paltry way, he imitates the laws."-Andre Lhote

We are working out the details on launching the live class. It is going to be first come first serve. Those who are there when class starts will be given the link. We are checking on a few things to see if we can increase our headcount in the software for the live class and will be posting more information tomorrow. It is going to be kind of like a radio call in contest...first x callers get the prize. We will announce within this thread.
See you soon.

So you're not doing a sign-up or anything, it's just a "Be here early on Saturday for the link" thing?
"Astronomy offers an aesthetic indulgence not duplicated in any other field. This is not an academic or hypothetical attraction and should require no apologies, for the beauty to be found in the skies has been universally appreciated for unrecorded centuries."
The class on Saturday will offer information that is hard to come by:
How to make the jump from student to professional
What is needed in your portfolio ( from a student portfolio - professional)
Identifying yourself as an artist ( personal point-of-view)
A look at process and how it effects the outcome of your work
True picture-making skills and what really makes the difference
Demonstrations from John Foster and Brad Rigney (CryptCrawler)
You can sample the technology being used by TAD, bring a headset/mic and speak directly with the faculty or communicate through our text chat. So come prepared with questions and be ready to take notes!
Here are a few samples from the faculty:
I'm going to be hitting my refresh button on my comp so much I just hope it won't explode before I can join in. !!!
THANKS CONCEPTART AND TAD!!!
And of course Jason Manley, Jon Foster, and Cryptcrawler. You guys are awesome for doing this.
man, this is so aweseome!!!!! and for free - i still can΄t believe it!! definitely trying to catch it on saturday ..
The first post in this thread has been updated with info. good luck!
if not remember there is always on demand
1.) So the link is clickable to the first 300 clickers or do they also have to register or so?
2.) Where will it be free watchable on demand AFTER it happened? In the download shop section of the shop?
Thanks in advance!
Damn, that's gonna be 5 am for me, but heck I'm gonna try to make it.
will most definably be ready to try and get a spot !
Great! i'll catch it on demand as i am unprepared for interaction right now.
When is the on demand going to be available?
Is there any way we can physically go watch them at the studio?
sweet, great way to get through finals and start the summer
confusing time ,can someone tell me when is it in GMT??
If this is Central time at 12 to 3pm and I'm on EST on the New England area, then that means it starts at probably 1pm here, then? If so, I'm probably going to have to tell my sister off and wait for me til I'm done watching this and then go to her house later. I could try and get on the link but that means I'm going to have to rely on what's going on in the desktop screen and do what I can to hear what they're saying, if I can which could be a struggle. I'm still unsure how that's going to work camera-wise.
Otherwise, if this is FREE, I need this course. BAD.
So by "those who are there when the class starts" do you mean those who are viewing this thread at noon tomorrow will get the link?We are working out the details on launching the live class. It is going to be first come first serve. Those who are there when class starts will be given the link. We are checking on a few things to see if we can increase our headcount in the software for the live class and will be posting more information tomorrow. See you soon.
It is CT, Central Time!
When: Saturday May 8th 2010 central 12-3PM central daylight time (Austin TX time)
Where: Right here on ConceptArt.Org
Who: There are only 300 seats available! TAD applicants will get first priority! The link will be posted here in this forum TEN MINUTES AFTER THE START OF CLASS, after which the spots will be first-come first-served for the live presentation.
Hope this helps!
The Art of the Female Figure was a great experience that got me interested in the VLP - well worth the money. Can't beat the price on this class! If you have any doubts about the tech this is your chance to get rid of them. I'm sure with all the interest in the class it will give the tech a stress test. Thanks again for offering this CA.

WOW! Thats what I'm talking about. Talk about giving back.
First, Thank you, I'm sure this will be good.
But I will be watching it on demand as its on at 2:30am (like The Art of the Female Figure was which I got up for and was well worth it) and with no guarantee of getting in plus ten minutes late (don't know if you'll be waiting). I'll be taking the sleep this time around.
