Thx, Evolvana! I'm glad you like to see the process I love seeing how other people do stuff.. very interesting.. .
Alrighty!! So, for now I have a floor in my office again, and my computer is again functional, but I haven't done a whole lot of art.. I got really ill last week, and didn't do a whole lot of anything...
here's what I have done though:
awful horrible landscapes.. it's pretty much my weakest point I think.. I decided at 2am to work on them.. haha not the best thing I've ever done.
also a sketchy of a Cloud cosplayer... was trying to draw something for a buddy, but he decided that he really wants an action shot instead, so I dropped it.
Hey all. I've been out road-tripping the last week or so, had to come home in a hurry, housesitter called, house was flooding.. had a big storm go through, made the water pressure go crazy and a pipe in the kitchen burst..
Also, had company and one of the kids got on my computer while I was out, and now my tablet pen dosent work. Looks like the inner spring is broken, the nib is.. er, stuck being pressed down..
This is what I was working on before we left.. Chris Sanders posted this lineart on deviantart and said anyone could color it, so that's what I'm doing.. it's relaxing.. but now I can't do anything. poo
hurray! so I colored on this a bit more, little bits at a time.. trying to get everything smooth, but still painterly-looking? I'm pretty much practicing lighting and skintone with this, I hate practicing on my own lineart.. all I do is see flaws, but if it's someone else's, I am more able to concentrate on the coloring part I suppose.. .
It's been a really busy month! We've had alot of family to visit/ visiting here, more to come too! .. haven't gotten alot of drawing done, but here's a few photos..
hiking up to the Lewis & Clark Caverns, MT
driving to hubby's aunt and uncles house..
me in the caverns, trying to hold very still.. lol
this is the back of hubby's aunt and uncle's "house" . A little castle in a little tiny town.. pretty awesome! his uncle is a contractor/construction guru. him and his kids built all of this, the inside is awesome too. it's very much like the inside of the hobbit's houses from lord of the rings..
For the Chris Sanders lineart - I really like the colors that you are using and the colors of her skintone nicely blend to the darker tones toward the bottom of the picture. A couple things; one being that the blue light especially on her stomach is just following the contours and lines that he drew and not really doing anything to create volume or shape. Think of where the muscles would be and what would protrude more and catch that light. Also underwater since the light is coming from the top, her hair would be casting shadows on parts of her arms and face.
Now with the other painting, I feel like you worry about blending too much which gives everything is washy, un-solid look to it. The colors you are choosing do look nice but worry first about placement and then worry about blending when it's kind of all figured out.
a little girl holding a dead stuffed pigeon? ? from a public domain postcard collection, I think it said from 1903 ?? she's got some awesome hair..
anyway, just a quick photoshop sketch. she'd probably look better in pen.. but it will have to wait for another time! I've been so freaking busy latley, its just crazy.. also, my camera battery is dead, and my scanner is being rebellious.. so you'll have to wait on "real" art..
this I started drawing and inking (just bought a small set of ZIG pens on saturday, wanted to try them out.. pretty much just like my microns, but cheaper) over the weekend.. That was a really strange angle to draw, and I'm pleased with how it turned out! Inking that curly hair was so... zen-like..
I worked on it while watching Evil Dead for the first time... then Stan Helsing (a scary movie production) and also Donnie Darko.. you'd think it would've been more of a creepy picture, right? (shots from my webcam) trying to figure out what I did with the camera battery charger... hrmm...
Also, I'm attempting to do a painting of it, using a combo of watercolor and acrylic paints on 11"15" 140 lb coldpress watercolor paper.... and I already messed up the size of her eyes... this is why I like digital

actually working on some character design, this is one from the book I'm helping hubby with pose is referenced from... a ton of pictures. . one for the head, one for neck, one for torso, legs, feet etc..
Is the stomach anatomy ok? I have a hard time with muscle definition.. I've never had much of it myself lol
more painting.. . I know, I know, her abdomen is horribly messed up at the moment.. . but the refs I'm using aren't' nudes, they're in really loose clothes,.... so I'm a little confused at the moment.. I'll figure it out, don't worry guys.. but yea, so.. I decided to do some fluffy vixen hair..
Been out of town for awhile, got back at the beginning of the month to find my computer taken apart! *shakes head* So.. yea, that's awesome. I have a whole bunch of sketches I need to scan still.. .
here's just something I was doing thismorning.. trying to get the hang of painter again... cuz' my wonderful hubby got Painter 11 for me!!!
for some reason, when I'm really stressed out and about to snap, I draw alley cats.. really weird ones... one's from a couple nights ago... turned into a small painty-thing... this is full size.. didn't feel like doing something big.. yes, it's terribly over saturated and ugly. . it's exactly how i was feeling at the moment
Oh, I also did a creepy bird right afterwards. this was about 4 am ... so eh, neither is my best work..

Hey peeps.. convinced my scanner to do 1 whole image today! I don't know what the problem is with it, I do one fine, then it errors out constantly after.. gah..
reference from: twiggxstockx
I really enjoyed drawing this.. I did this late at night after bb was sleepin, just used some blue colored pencil I had in my bag.. I found the shape of her head interesting, as well as the way her shoulders jutt out.. very pleased with this one ^_^
scan came out a little too soft.. ah well..
Another something I'm working on! Yeay for sketches! sketches done in photshop cuz painter lags too much for sketching..
also, self portrait-ma-bob. but with longer hair.. I miss my long hair..
pencil, then painter, I know one side of the face has some issues, but at the moment I do not wish to fix them. I feel odd painting myself.. mehh.. I'd rather paint someone else's face, 'k thnx
and also!! I painted up the zebra finch in painter.. using the chalk tool and watery grainy blender
Animals, sexy women and natural environments are some of my favorite things. Keep 'em coming.
Thank you! Dahami! I plan on doing so!
oh, and I forgot to upload this one, it's allison again, but with some clothes on. her legs are still bugging me, and I'm repainting them, but I liked the top and skirt I painted on for a buddy, so here they are
what do you guys think of my new signature? anything you'd change about it?
working on painting this up...
now, you might find it interesting to note, when I paint people, about the last year or so, I only use reference for the sketch.. Not for when I'm painting.. This is helping me alot, actually working out skintone on my own.. I dunno if it's for everybody, but I seem to be learning from it.. I know I need to work more on this one, she's a little too.. eh. .I know the colors are warm, but it comes off as cold to me..
