So I posted this in my sketchbook, but my sketchbook gets no posts and I was hoping this would get some critique. Anyways...
It's my take on the Pokemon Muk, somewhat based on the slimes from World of Warcraft, thus the skull stuck in the slime. I'm hoping to add more stuff stuck in the slime later, maybe weapons, armor, metal, other bones... I dunno.
Here it is (heavy WIP at this point)
Well, I'm not very familiar with WoW, but this is certainly an interesting take on Muk. The only thing that really stands out to me this early on as a major issue are the hands. I would think that, being made entirely of slime, they'd be more rounded and goopy, likely with slime dripping from them, as opposed to having pointed fingers. Other than that, it's looking very interesting. I'm sure as the slime is more refined it'll take more shape and look better, so at this point I don't really have anything to say about that.
Definitely interested in seeing where this goes, though.
I messed around with it some... he's not as 'gooey' now, which I might want to change, and I'm not sure about the face, but I prefer the shading now. I'm also confused as to how I should go about outlining. This is one of my first tries at something like this.
I'm planning on doing my whole RP team eventually... (Tangrowth, Banette, Bibarel, Muk, Luxray, and Magmortar)
I don't know what the general consensus on updating your first post with your newest artwork is here, so I'm just going to post it in this one:
Alright, Im gonna see if I can help you out a bit. I love it when people try their own take on different Pokemon.
For his face I suggest that you push that skull down just a tad to make some room for his mouth and eyes. Although he is a blob of slim, that tends to be wear his face spawns from. Its kinda of the same with the slimes in WoW as well.
Also thickening his arms a bit might help, at least on the one in the background.
Hope that helps for now. I'll be checking on this piece to see the progress. Really want to see what you come up with =]
