nice work! Can't wait to see more.
Only thing (i'm just learning this too.) make sure you lightest values only show up in the face if they are truely the lightest value. If a person is wearing a white shirt the face should have the same values unless it is just as white.
I don't know. Either it's lazy, or i'm too afraid to upload my drawings here.
Other's sketchbook seems very very awesome.
I'll try updating though. I want to improve like others.
well .. hopefully...
The first one, it the only digital drawing that i fond of.
I'm pretty pleased with the result.
And the second is screencap painting from Sherlock BBC.
i tried using grid. But somehow still looks a bit weird on watson's face.
And terrible colour.. i guess....
and i think i must start drawing self portrait.
Here's two of it.
....still far far away from my actual face.. =_=
the first using mirror.
i can get the shading pretty good.
and the second using webcam.
it's too dark to see using webcam. so i can decide the right shade.
btw, i just cut my hair short.
so..well, the hair is shorter then the first SP.
and few head study...
Wow, loving the pencil work. Keep it up!

where should i start? suggestions?

quick movie study

pretty pleased with the result.
and several past sketches that i forgot to upload. :p
that's all for tonight.
have a good day fellas!
I'm 18 years old too! Yes, you should learn anatomy. When I say that, I don't mean going to look up photos and copy them. Try to draw from imagination, and when you get stuck, use a photo reference and anatomy book.
The brush size you are using might be too small for the side view portrait and the hand and at the same time too big for hatching, but it could also be that hatching is just bad in Photoshop. I don't have photoshop and a tablet, so I can't tell.

I know that you are hydrogen - Ian D.
@Vay ah, i started this SB at 18. i'm 20 now. :p
ok, i'll do that!
hm.. yea, maybe the brush size too big for hatching. i'll make it smaller next time.
thanks a lot for the comment!
Hi! You're very prolific and there's alot of personality in your portraits.
Anatomy is something you can never stop learning.. Just be consistent and you'll get better!
Keep it up!
@ derelic7 Thank you!!
ok. here we go. another movie study? but i cartoonized it.. :/
and a not very quick painting. yet i don't really like the result.
Thanks stopping by my sketchbook.Your are a kind man.
Many fantasy studies here.Keep up.
Some nice progress already. I really like what you did with your sketchbook cover.
When painting, try to think in 3 dimensions, especially when working from photographs. Think about planes and the angles that they are regarding the light source. It will help make things look less flat. A good idea for practice, would be to paint with 100% opacity brush. It will help you think more!
Keep it up.
@ Invalid User Thank you!!
@ MaFeng Thanks for stopping by mine too! Erm. i'm not a 'man'. 100% female, though lot of people often mistaken me. :p
@ FraserMcT Thanks! I'll keep them in mind. Will try the 100% opacity brush later! Though i'm still strugling to find the right colors. Colors are my weakness.
Here's sketch of Snape and Narcissa from Harry Potter: Deathly Hallows Part 2 Trailer.
the trailer is awesome! if you haven't watch it, GO WATCH IT!!
i'm harry potter mega fans.
i feel this sketch a bit weird...gotta do more pencil drawing!!
