New piece I call "The Mirror Maiden". Let me know what you think!
Very interesting style. Like steel engraving/ =)
I wish the line art for the sides of the archway wasn't so obviously flipped. Feels like an unnecessarily cut corner when there looks to be so much effort lavished on the rest of the drawing. I know it's a really pedantic observation, but it's just taking the edge off the lovely hand-crafted vibe of the piece for me.
Doesn't mean I can't still love it though. Really enjoying all the details and textures on her costume and the cityscape is just great.
Damnit Matt, you eagle-eyed devil! You cut deep, but alas, my secret is laid bare. Yes, I flipped it. I kow, it's tres tacky. I promise I will rectify it. Thanks for the nice words though...
Thanks Smokenmirrors, Donalfall and Chr. Steam!
Very cool! With those thin hands and face so impressive breast I love this town: someone smokes, thumbs up!
So is this scanned linework with digital paint on it?
Anyway, I really like it; great detail!
I like this a lot, I think the mirror/mask is probably my favorite part of it
The only good Blue is a dead Blue!
Hey, thanks everyone!
GuzBoroda - Haha, glad you caught that! Yeah, I really like drawing people smoking for some reason. I think people are really being themselves when they are smoking... it's personal time. That's the one thing I miss about smoking (I only smoked a few cigs a day), but it was a good time to clear your mind and just relax. Oh well, I will just have to find other ways to do that!
Benjamin-the-Fox - Actually, the linework is digital too. This started as a rough sketch from my sketchbook, I scanned it and then just worked over top of it all in Photoshop.
TJH - not really, just the pencil sketch from my sketchbook, but Ikinda deal in these themes in my personal work alot. Much of the imagery is stuff that just flowsout of me, ya know? That's why it's fun to do, don't have to think too much like I do when Iam doing concept art.
cool I like the hair standing straight up!
Awesome, it's really imaginative!
haha, its great, I love it!
i love it,lovely detail.
Here's what I think - pretty damn cool.
