i suck at backgrounds so i wanted to focus on that with this one.
so i rendered a scene and now i try to paint over it, here is the current status and the original render.
it's still pretty rough, but maybe at the end it will look like a mars/space colony something...
Your work is a lot of fun! What kind of advice are you looking for?
i'm trying to improve myself. if u see errors which i keep repeating or something like that, i would be thankful if u can point that out.
have to learn how to get the values right, i keep leaving out the ends of the spectrum.

This is a very cool sketchbook. All of your drawings are very dynamic and have a lot of movement to them (something I suck at) I recommend trying some Loomis books for face drawing, or studying the planes of the face. Keep up the studies like in post #9. (Y)
thx, glad u like it. maybe a stupid question, but what are "Loomis books"? this is just a hobby for me, so i may lack some technical terms, or... i'm just a bit stupid.
anyway here is the rendered banana-stripgirl and the new drawing for today.
the place where she is working a extraterrestrial strip bar and the heat is on! ;P
Not a bad start, your doing well. Do some more reference drawing/paintings. You'll get a better understanding of the human body. A few of your drawings, the heads are too small and/or deformed. Keep posting though, you have potential.
About the suggestion that you should read the books by Andrew Loomis, seven of his books are available in pdf form. They are great tools to help learn the forms of a person to block them out.
"Drawing the Head and Hands" by Andrew Loomis
"The Eye of the Painter" by Andrew Loomis
"Figure Drawing for All It's Worth" by Andrew Loomis
"Creative Illustration" by Andrew Loomis
There are a few more. But they are all golden. They take a few minutes to load up because they are full length picture heave books.
